Reminds me of a graphic comic book Metal Hurlant story of a boy who cried tears of gold and his mom and dad and the rest of his relatives tortured and abused him constantly for more tears but in the end he got justice ,find the comic for more or just see this movie,loos similar!

I had that exact same thought! That was a good story.
Reminds me of the story line from the first "Twilight Zone" movie back in the 80s with the kid who had powers and kept the town isolated until some city folk dropped in.

@@scottys1423 Yes it was. That had the remake with the monster on the wing too. John Lithgow was perfect in that. I believe John Landis directed the scene where the actor died in the helicopter crash too? I'm trying to use the old noggin and not look it up on IMDB.
My son and I saw "The King Tide" and really enjoyed it. We both found it to be an eerie, suspenseful film that slowly builds to a powerful final scene. Young Canadian actress Alix West Lefler is wonderfully believable in the central role of Isla, the little girl with strange powers, but contrary to Rotten Tomatoes, she was not born in "Vancouver, British Columbia, USA".
Seems to be like Wicker Man but from the islanders' perspective

Made me think of the same film too, but then again, many scary stories are about isolated communities, and much of H.P Lovecraft's lore is about coasts and creatures of the sea. I wonder if this is mainly an American thing? Or maybe in other places where there is so much wilderness that stuff like this becomes easy to imagine?
A movie that’s not WATERED down with over the top cgi, looks like a good story, I’m all in.

Plenty of movies that have cgi that's so good you can't tell. This one has it too. Plus it's a small movie so it really doesn't need much. It's not a Marvel movie. Lol

Everything is basically on Prime. Meaning if you ever want to find any movie and I mean any, just pay the $4.99 to rent it, I'm about to do that now for this 😏

Just like the villagers glomming onto Isla, the other studios were bound to start copying A24's success.
Wow! A very interesting concept! Finally! A movie that's actually unique!
Even the bright parts of the trailer seem very dimly lit.
It reminds me a bit of "Once upon a river" by D. Setterfield, and looks reeeeally intriguing

@@ununhexium it's a take on the Mermaid myth with an interesting twist at the end, so I won't spoil it but it's enjoyable...IMO
the thumbnail makes me think of that line from jupiter ascending. "Bees can sense royalty?"
