Its as if he is living it, right? I first saw hin play Yimu in PLZ and was so impressed. Then i came to see this series just coz he is good and their chemistry is great. Watching this, i am amazed, at such a young age to be rendering such a character the way he does!

This is so heartbreaking and painful to watch. 😭😭😭 She did went behind his back to help Prince Dan and thus broke his trust in her. The King already had trust issues and people around him had always used him. Plus he is insecure too and maybe he had always doubted her love. What a mess!!

In fact, this actor is an expert in the roles of disgusting lovers. almost , in all of his roles that I have seen he was a annoying lover. .when he is kind, he can hardly be loved and in this drama He is not really kind , he has not made an interesting sacrifice for her and now we can see his love is really fake and full of selfiness. so that we can not understand why Madame Lee can love him.in this episode he showed that his love is also superficial and worthless. Because if he really loves her will not tolerate the torture of her for any reason. Indeed true love does not depend on anything. It's really hard you can like him.

Not just whipping, flogging, paddling and any other torture methods were accepted as punishment or confession inquiry to the suspects of criminals, even to the family members (wife or sons or daughters). And the worst thing was if the punishment was falsely done (means that the suspect was not guilty or falsely accused), there was no apology, no compensation. So the lesser status people (wife or son or daughters or subordinates), merely just accepting the mistreatment.

The Emperor is like, "What?! I have Sherlock Holmes for a wife?" That said, the expression on his face shows shock and sadness that Li could not disclose all of the drama happening in the palace. She probably thought she could solve all of his domestic and some of his official problems for him. I feel for him.

the greatest mistake in madam li's life was helping the crown prince escaped. by doing this, she betrayed the trust of the king. she knew the king has problems regarding trust issues . the king even informed her that all his family members betrayed him and left him and she was the only one left with him. by this confession of the king, she should have realized how deep the king was hurt by all the lies, of all of them using him just to get power and the throne. now, how can she convince the king she did not reunite the romance between her senior when she has gone missing. anything can happen within a day.

The King wouldn’t be like that if people won’t fcking stab him in the back one after another even if you love that person you can’t always forgive them again and again because they have done it once they can do it again and again.

The problem was the king himself. He was forced to be paranoid, afraid of conspiracies of others around them and never trusting anyone. Even with his unlimited power, sometimes abusing his power to other. Li was forced to marry him, eventhough she was already the wife of his senior ( in martial arts) and pregnant. And in the end (spoiler) even killing Li's ex husband in front of her, and also killing Li. In this drama seems like love for the king did not exist. The relationship was just for lust and obsession

Once a person breaks you’re trust you can never trust them fully again because even you’re family can betray you anytime and in the case of the King a lot of people wants him dead and also wants the throne so he never let her weakness makes him faulter. Lol don’t tell us the King is the only one who’s at fault here because they do things that makes them suffer the consequences. If Li’er was honest to the King she doesn’t need to hide something if she’s helping the King they are married they are a better tandem in solving cases together not selfishly doing it yourself.

Those who comes to with beautiful faces with smiles are always dangerous? Something I always tell ppl. But I also have a problem with madam li too, why must you tell the enemy one on before hand that you know she did the crime ! She was too of herself. I believe if she had communicated to the Emprow about letting Hands Dan go he would have listen to her coz he love her. I told you guys from the beginning that she's not that smart?.... Why live with a paranoid man ,,, they don't even trust themselves! But she did wrong by planning with Han Dan though.

The King had many women he was mad because she had a relationship before him. All the times she did everything for him he still treated her bad. She saved him went to battle for him yet she abused her. He still asked her if she stabbed the other one. She came back to him after being kidnapped yet he never believed her but believed everyone else.

The Yan crown prince was planning on either escaping or dying that day no matter what. He is the king's best friend who didn't want to kill him but out of principle couldn't release him either. So by helping the Yan prince escape, it allowed the king to avoid killing him. Otherwise he would have been dead and it would have upset the king.

It just like what she said, she did it on her own will, no relation at all with political issue. To begin with, it's because she is a sensible and chivalrous person. On the surface it can be also for the king and can be also because she thinks that Yan Dan is her friend. But under the surface, her real reason is basically because she wants to returning the favor to Mr. Tian Guang. For herself & Jingke. After her being abducted, thanks to the white Jade from Yan Dan, she learn that actually Tian Guang is related with the Yan Kingdom and Yan Dan. For so many years, Tian Guang been a really kind benefactor toward her & Jingke. That's why she repaying the favor by letting him know about Yan Dan and then can make a plan to rescue him. But the reason why she involved herself, come to Yan Dan residence, and even coming out from the room is completely for her own deepest desire. She just want to see the man that she yearn of, Jingke....

Li'er made a mistake by allowing the prince to escape from the palace & causing death to innocents guards.She should have plead with the king cause the king would reason with her at least it's from her.She deserve punishment just that this one is too much. That scene is very hard to watch. I'm not trying to defend the king nor do I doubt her love for him. However, whenever that Jing Ke is involved... she always pick him over the king... and that is a stupid mistake she kept making over and over again. The king is very possessive of her...very ruthless and cruel, but when it comes to her, he always caved in..Yan Dan and Han Shen are perfect examples; the king actually found a way to make it work... but for Jing Ke... that's the Bull's eye... the critical hit...and he (the King) knows that if push come to shove, she will always choose Jing Ke. What she did, hurt him so bad because on one hand she gave him his wildest dream but on the other hand she just stabbed him in the back. TBH I don't know how he can trust her from now on... especially for someone like him who already have major trust issues...Good luck to them I guess...

Jing ke and Li had true love as a couple even with consummation but Li was forced to marry the King because Jingke was poisoned by the King (threatening option for Jingke's life). And if you watched the entire drama..it was the king who had psychyc problems and could not be trusted at all.

@@aishagresee2827 I think you're missing the point here. Never have I denied how genuine the love relationship between Li and Jing Ke was. What I was trying to say is... no matter how you look at it... Li did hurt the King and whether it was conscious or not, she was able to do so because she knew how much the king love her and kinda took advantage of it. As for the King being psychotic... you have to remember that this story took place thousands of years ago.... and people tend to forget that we cannot judge the king by TODAY'S STANDARDS. I would love to see anyone going through what the king went through and be a better person than him...If you detach yourself from all context... then yes perhaps the king is edgy and cruel...but then again... you will once again missing the entire point.

That plan of escaping dan was a waste of time and ruined lives and their relationship for him to get taken back to qin

We live another day to see this bullshit...... 25:06 and 46:50 What i don't understand is why people love this king character (very unstable and dangerous) A crime is a crime, a murderer is murderer, a thief is a thief it doesn't matter how many years have passed. The king stole the woman and the kid of another man. It doesn't matter how affectionate is with Li er he was continuing imposing his will (and he succeeded). Li er forgot about that!!! While she keeps her other morals at high and fights for "right"at the same time she forgot her first real love and the real father of her son. UNBELIEVABLE!!! As a character she is to low......she has "double standards" Back to story line.... To begin with all of her sufferings were caused by the king..... At the beginning all she wanted was to live a simple life with the man she loved.... She now lives with the king……. So she adjusts the morality to that…… She hides the truth from the real father (For the sake of love, for him to be happy….) She promotes the father of her child to love another woman…… (For the sake of love, for him to be happy….) But wait…. She’s doing all that for her man and her child, this is ok yes???? Yes it’s ok WHAT IS NOT OK is that she fall for the man who kidnap her and separate her form her family (stole her life)…. Sorry…. I forgot that just because he is the king he can do whatever he likes.... It doesn't matter how affectionate is with Li er he was imposing his will (and he succeeded). the worst part of it is that everybody will love him for doing that including Li er (hahaha) It takes a lot keep your morals strong. Li er is not one of those characters while she is brilliant in other fields finally she succumbs to the king… 46:50 she is sorry for what? Treason? (the king wants everything to be as he likes) I supposed that beating was fair for her? She took that risk for a stranger (Prince Dan) because it was the right thing to do…… while she forgot the man she once loved and have a child with (and now loves the king who only made her life miserable). And again all of her sufferings are caused by the king the man who once said “I will never harm you” Same applies for her kid. Promises which have no ground, according to his behaviour. I do not understand how she falls for this “king” THIS IS WRONG IN SO MANY WAYS. She will always suffer because of him. If something is unjust product nothing good will come from it (she loved the wrong person plain and simple). I don’t like the story line and the main characters behaviour so far but after all is a drama :) it's going to take effort to continue watching.

And it's a bit contradicting in this show, considering she speaks up when he does literally ANYTHING else, but when she should be pleading her cause, she shuts up. It's always annoying when the protagonist has so much to say and is so clever any other time than the moment when they need to be really clever. Madam Li only has a problem talking when not doing so will get her in trouble. Wtf. The fact that all of those men of military don't realize how utterly fking DUMB it would be for Madam Li to try and kill Min when the King and the entire royal accompanying force is right outside the carriage, instead of getting rid of her in the palace where no one would know. Second, the fact that all the military men who realize how good she is at fighting don't realize how quickly she could have killed Min-if she was actually trying and not left her with a cut on her arm. Third, the fact that common sense isn't common in the palace that supposedly tries to obtain the best minds from around the lands. Madam Li did commit treason but the King would have probably found a way to forgive her; what actually pissed him off was the fact that her and Jing Ke were alone for a day, we ain't fooled, he's too insecure to let that go.... BTW, that eunuch hasn't lifted a single bloody finger and yet he is smooth sailing over everyone. He's like a master manipulator w/o even putting in work. Lol, brilliant.

I totally agree with you, the king would have found away to clear her name, that wasn't the problem but hearing the name of his enemy , that was his undoing. finding out she spent a night with another man and not just any man but the father of her child, the one she gave herself to and promised to love. for a possessive, jealous, ruthless and volatile man like the king, there was no letting it go, infact I think those idiots realised it sooner that the King's only problem with Li was having other men around her so they tried to use that to lengthen the gap of distrust between them whenever they got the chance. Li was annoying me, like she just couldn't speak up and defend herself, other times she was outspoken but not now when she needed to be, so frustrating urgh! As for the Eunuch, I have no words for his annoying ass.lol.

There's one thing I'd like to point out as to why Gongsun Li didn't use her wits here. Given her skills she could've easily killed Min lol but she didn't mention it
