IFG You are such a badass. My introduction to you was years ago when you were beating up on big channel idiots. You go my man. Take me on any time. I relish the moment.

Kevin took full responsibility, as stated in his video, for the unfortunate death of his stingray. He admitted to becoming complacent and didn’t do his water change the day he was supposed to. He shared it with his viewers to remind us not to be lazy when it comes to regular maintenance. It had nothing to do with the fact that he relied on Seachem products to quick-cycle the tank. Personally, I’ve been doing that for many years -especially when it comes to having to set up a hospital tank in a hurry! I am not sponsored by Seachem or anyone else for that matter. That being said, I’ve found that Seachem products work very well and using Prime & Stability have quick-cycled more than one of my tanks! Your video fails to mention that Kevin repeated the same process of using Prime & Stability for the second stingray with no issues! I think your misrepresenting Kevin in this video. He has a lot of great information on his channel. He’s also transparent when it comes to his mistakes, which is just as helpful as all the other information he shares. So Yes, the loss of that stingray was really sad & a little expensive, but it wasn’t just a hard lesson for Kevin, it was for all of us… None of us are above making mistakes!

How convenient that you didn’t talk about how he already got another sting ray and put it in an un-cycled tank and it survived.

He was transparent on his mistake and successfully has another stingray that is doing pretty well. As a whole he did a great thing by being transparent and not hiding his mistake, and actually successfully acclimated a second stingray. It takes a real man to own up to his mistakes. I have done prime and stability with so many uncycled tanks with adding fish right away, not a single issue, fish healthy to this day. Kevin made a mistake, not because or prime/stability, his mistake was he didn't monitor the ammonia parameters closely and that was caused the death of the stingray. Stop living in the old days of cycling a tank for months dude, we are in 2023

@Thomas Pinter technically wrong. A cycled tank will have ammonia at any given time. However if it's cycled, that ammonia will turn to nitrite and then nitrates.

About time you posted. I was starting to get worried you haven't posted in awhile.

Did some research in the lab and found dosing prime did not change any NH3.

As a person who used to MOD for his FB group. I find this hilarious. I got kicked off cuz i wasnt pushing his methods and saying that they arent the best methods in my opinion. Also called him out in the ray issue. Said he was too stubborn about promoting that prime and stability method that his stubborness ultimately costed that ray his life. I wasnt going to promote what he thinks is best when i know other ways are better or safer for the fish. Edit: someone sent me this video and said it would be funny and it was. Cuz like you said, it was common sense and he didnt think about it. Just wanted to "prove" this. His mistake was treating a ray like a african cichlid.

I like both channels, on many occasions he did say what works for him might not work for others and he has admitted to the mistakes he made, I appreciate both channels.

I think a lot of this guys get sponsored. It’s so convenient that you seen multiple seachem or api products grouped together like an advertisement and it’s always so strategically placed in between the tanks in their shots. At this point I’m thinking a lot of these guys are receiving money on top of free fish and products. Then doing these crazy builds, and tearing them day soon if not the same day to build another one.

Prime has it's place and is a fantastic product, but it's no substitute for a substantial cycle. I don't care what anyone says.

He’s a subpar fish keeper

He is a seachem pusher. He can’t even do “genuine” tests on other products and gives bad reviews on those products, but has no problem promoting and doing “genuine” tests using seachem and gives seachem amazing reviews. Kaveman is a good example of what is not needed in the fish community. Bad information and a product pusher.

This is like watching the scene in zootopia you talk just like Flash Slothmore this video was pointless

Even using those products wait at least 1 or 3 weeks if you using expensive or more rare fish just in case you lose them, put some goldfish in there and help the cycle to progress they won't due but yeah better than to drop that stingray in there and having it die

Poor animal hopefully its reborn into my aquarium instead.

I've been doing this for over 15 yrs with 25+ tanks and 2 375g IBC totes with all peas and haps ... and I've tried offering him advice and he acts like he's been doing it for years. Lol with a couple tanks a couple yrs old 😅 🤣 😂 😆 😄 🙃 😅 🤣 😂 😆 😄 🙃 😅

Seachem saved my tank. I didn't understand the cycle only set my tank up two weeks prior to getting fish. Tank crashed. Fully stocked. Prime and stability saved them all. I enjoy kavemans videos. He is very informative

I sent him a comment when he did that as I have had rays before too and have 9 other tanks and a pond. He wasn’t nice to me either and I asked him how much seachem, gave him, not sure how many times he said “Prime”, well he learned the hard way and probably didn’t even pay for the second ray he got, who knows, the ray breeder also got some business by him putting him on the video too. He should of done better research and asked some real breeders of rays, like stingray biology, he’s awesome and very smart. This will stir things up for sure now. New side of Ifg this year!!!!!!

IFG I’m lost in knowing what your video is actually about??? Yep you’ve bagged out Kev and Seachem. Just wondering if you’re claiming that it’s “Not possible” to add fish to an aquarium that hasn’t been previously fully cycled? If that’s the case, then I’m wondering if you’ve ever fully understood the overall big picture of how the nitrogen cycle fully functions, how it’s a living ecosystem that can easily collapse if something goes pear shaped. If you’re claiming that it’s not possible to add fish to a new aquarium on Day One. Then sadly you’re mistaken. Kev has been openly honest, allowing his viewers to know that we are all only human, we all make mistakes, and allowing everyone to understand that it’s always going to be a hobby, a passion, a love, that’ll always be a learning curve, and it’ll be a learning curve for life. The fact that he sadly lost his first stingray, had absolutely nothing to do with the way in which he initially kickstarted that aquarium. There’s no such thing as an aquarium that’s immune to suffering the devastating impact of an ammonia spike. If you’re in the know about the potential causes of a sudden ammonia spike, then you’d obviously know there’s a wide variety of circumstances that can cause an aquariums ecosystem to collapse (aka tank crash, nitrogen cycle crash, ammonia spike etc etc) Whenever I see a fish keeper in need of some help, I generally always dive in, and help in any way I possibly can. I’ll never pass on information that’s crap, and I’ll go absolutely flat out attempting to help anyone, save one life, or save every life I possibly can. Regardless of the price tag of any pet, every pet is precious, and priceless in many ways, to millions of us. IFG Your lack of empathy is deadset childish, and your video is nothing short of being 9 minutes of ludicrous babble. If you’re a fish keeper yourself, then I’ll honestly mention that it’s sad that you’re so openly narrow minded, judgmental, and sadly it’s blatantly obvious that you’re unable to think outside the box, or look at the big picture. If anything, all you’re doing is creating more confusion with the fish keeping hobby, you’re obviously not afraid of sharing your wealth of knowledge, and total and utter crap (And so on, and so for) and “Anyone with half a brain, or possibly even one brain cell, will hopefully never trust you when it comes to doing 👉 doing what’s best for their pet fish 👈 as you’ve obviously lost your way in knowing that this entire hobby isn’t all about you. The saddest aspect of your video, is the simple fact that innocent aquatic lives will be lost, thanks to your ignorance and selfishness. You’ll achieve nothing by ridiculing others, especially when you’re wrong. Anyone knew to the hobby, can easily lose their pets (that may just mean the world to them) thanks to your crap. Kev better get onboard with Father Fish. No better way to protect your Fish from extremely bad information. Since following FF I have seen my fish happy and the plants growing. But what do I know. Nature always does fish keeping better than anyone. That is what FF promotes.

I been in the hobby 2 years . I figured Kaveman out. Once he started talking about extra vitamins and garlic .Then when he and everybody else was hyping the FX6. Yes it a good filter but its other filters that can give a better bang for the buck.

@@RandomOzzieVids I usually acclimate a tank for a couple months , add plants from my main planted tank - then slowly add fish then the plecos , but to speed the process I squeeze an old filter into the new filter in the fresh tank instead of squeezing it into the water , I collect dwarf cichlids - German black rams to be exact (:

sringrays do not like water parameter swings, ammonia spikes and even medium to high nitrates.

Bro I’ve watched your channels for years. Why you talking like that? It was hard to get though your video with you talking like you in speech therapy. And if something happened that caused you to talk like that, my apologies. But focus on the speech and not the stingray then. I respect both hobbyist. What works for some in the hobby doesn’t work for others in the hobby. He’s in NY your in TX. Hobbyist get down differently in different parts. I wouldn’t say he’s out here harming fish on purpose. His tanks look nice to me.

One great point was that you stated he didn’t tell the breeder aka Super BD Stingray. Let’s not forget this was also an unboxing in which he mentions him and now leaves you to question the breeders quality.
