The King Of Jordan (1966)

Jordan.
Various shots at an outpost of the Bedouin Army of Jordan show soldiers preparing camels for riding; and riding on patrol through the arid countryside. Several shots at the palace; a sentry stands outside; the Jordan flag flies; two guards stand at the door of the King's office. We see King Hussein of Jordan sitting at a desk, writing; then getting up to greet a bishop; they sit and talk.
The King is seen on a Royal tour of villages where new irrigation schemes are under way; crowds of people welcome him; women and children sing and clap; an Arab presents the King with a cup of coffee which he drinks. The King then lays a foundation stone for a new school at Hebron; a children's brass band plays and the crowd cheers and gathers round him. M/S of a picture of the King above a banner of Arabic writing.
The next stop is a racecourse beside the Dead Sea; the King walks to a stand to watch; men are seen placing bets. A line of men on camels walk to the starting line; several camel racing shots, they run quite slowly, then put on a sudden spurt to cross the finishing line.
We drive on to another village where the King lays another foundation stone to much applause and cheering. The King then visits Aqaba, Jordan's only port on the Red Sea; he puts on a life jacket and goes water skiing. Travelling L/S of the King's motorcade driving along a twisting road.
