I think you should also mention that while your attacks overall do less damage in Max Mode, DMs do not and will always do their maximum, unscaled damage.

Very helpful! Thank god videos like these exist cuz I just got 02 UM on Steam and it doesn't properly explain MAX Mode at all sadly.

I gotta be honest the max mode stuff intimidated the fuck outta me at first, but getting the hang of it and getting some insane stuff down with Kyo, Yamazaki, Nameless, and EX Takuma has been so satisfying.

Great tutorial. And your directional inputs are SUPER clean!!

Great tips, how do you mark andy's hit on The ground?

[1] What's the point in wasting a whole power gauge bar for something that will lower the damaging and can be easily mistaken doing the combos inputs at any time? [2] Can you beat pros without using Max mode and pro combos? Is it applicable to just only use DMs, super DMs with basic and simple combos? [3] I wish the next KOFXV would have a different system to be accessible to everyone. For an instant, Samurai Shodown 2019 is a perfect combination of all previous SS into one SS mechanical gameplay.

1 you will have slightly less dmg but more combo routes, it still overall leads to more damage output if you can perform the correct combo. 2 yes you can beat pros without, some characters don't rely on them and can get by with fundamentals, max combos are a plus. K Yuri, Clark are good examples in my opinion. But keep in mind pro players will have that edge over you if they know them, it will result in a lower w/l ratio if their execution is decent

@@JuN0 Clark has an easy Max mode combo straight into SDM. Mai has a staple MAX Mode combo that isn’t that hard. Kula also doesn’t need Max Mode, O. Chris has easy Max Mode combos, too.

how do you free cancel? I'm in max mode but I can't free cancel anything

I'm having the hardest time getting the cl hp max to cl hp with andy.... any other tips on landing this part? I've got the other parts down in max. I can do all the damn free cancels into sc. I can't get the first part locked in thov

do it on 1st hit and stay neutral then dash, try to keep "form" while doing it and eventually you will be able to do it easier, you can also do it from a cross up HK as well. back turned enemies are easier to combo.

Arcade stick , but keyboard is also pretty good for KOF. I don';t recommend the game on pad.

4:20 I can't do max mode bypass for some reason... I'm trying this exact same combo using shingo and it just doesnt come out.... any tips?

try doing it normally without combo first, once you get a feel for it then try it in combo.

@@JuN0 I managed to do it by delaying it a bit. Like you have to "link" the special move after ther normal instead of canceling into it. But it's still inconsistent. Damn this game is hard

@@Hardivh keep practicing its not as bad as you think. also if its too hard you could just practice the normal method works fine.
