About The Killers:
The Killers are a Las Vegas-based four-piece who formed in 2003, featuring the talents of singer/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, drummer Ronnie Vanucci, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer. The band has received countless accolades for their artistic achievement, including multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Award nominations, MTV Video Music Awards, NME Awards and more.Their first album, Hot Fuss, was released in 2004 to worldwide acclaim. The album contained the singles “Mr. Brightside” and “Somebody Told Me,” in addition to the anthemic song “All These Things That I’ve Done,” which has since been referenced by the likes of U2 and Coldplay. The band toured for two years straight behind Hot Fuss, playing more than four-hundred shows, and eventually returned to Vegas to begin to work on the follow-up album with legendary producers Alan Moulder and Flood. The result, a love letter of sorts to their hometown entitled Sam’s Town, was released in 2006 and spent forty-two weeks on the Billboard Top 200.A b-sides collection entitled Sawdust was released in 2007, followed by their third studio album, Day & Age, which was released to widespread critical praise in 2008, anchored by massive single “Human.”The Killers released Battle Bornin September 2012, which saw them expanding their world tour into countries they’ve never visited before, and finally were honored to perform at the world-renowned Wembley Arena, one of the most monumental and significant shows of their career. After a decade of making music, in November 2013, The Killers released a “Best Of” collection, Direct Hits, which featured two incredible new songs alongside classics from the band’s revered catalogue. The band, who have sold over twenty-five million albums worldwide, and headlined all of the world’s top festivals (Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury), released their newest studio album, Wonderful Wonderful, in September 2017, where it landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart the week of its release, as well a stopping the charts in the U.K. and Australia. The album is the band’s fifth consecutive number one in the U.K., and Brandon Flowers’ seventh U.K. number one overall.

Las Vegas is literally a REBELS and HOCKEY town now! Its unbelievable how big Hockey is in the city. You gotta actually live in the city to get a feel how big it is. The Raiders and even a NBA team would never be this big. Could be big for the visitors but it will never have the impact the NHL Knights has had onto the city. It's a massive success story! Ownership did everything right and they continue to do things BIG and the RIGHT WAY!

This song could easily have fitted like a plug inside of a plug-hole back in the 80's. I swear Brandon Flowers owns a TIME MACHINE and his obvious love and adoration for 80's music takes him for a cosmic ride back there where he finds some magic dust disguised as something back in those days and teleports himself back into modern time...and goes to work on songs...there's no other way. The songs are all so good. This is my favourite of all of THE KILLERS' songs....10/10.

I drove through the desert last night. I carried the weight of our last fight. Elvis singing Dont be Cruel and I wonder If you feel it too, its like were going under. Somewhere outside the lonely Esmeralda county line, The question of my heart came to my mind. If I go on with you (by my side), can it be the way it was when we met? Did you forget all about those golden nights? Maybe a thief stole your heart, or maybe we just drifted apart. I remember driving in my daddys car to the airfield, Blanket on the hood, backs against the windshield. Back then this thing was running on momentum, love and trust That paradise is buried in the dust. If I go on with you by my side can it be the way it was when we met? Did you forget all about those golden nights? (The way it was, it was.) All of our plans are falling through. Sometimes a dream, it dont come true. Darling, darling, (If we go on can it be) Can it be the way it was when we met? Did you forget all about them golden nights? If I go on with you (by my side) can it be the way it was? My heart is true, girl, its just you Im thinking of. Can it be the way it was? (Maybe a thief stole your heart)

I moved to Las Vegas just after high school. Some of the first friends I met were in a little town about an hour west of Vegas called Pahrump. I remember the first time I drove out to visit them. The view of the desert was so beautiful. Every shadow cast by every rock and every piece of sagebrush. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was like a little bit of magic. All of Southern Nevada is like a little bit of magic, from where the willows still weep on Charleston Avenue, to somewhere outside the lonely Esmeralda County Line. I'm convinced that this album cover is inspired by the drive back from Pahrump. A drive I've made countless times. Also this is The Killers' best album and it's not even close. If all the haters on Reddit had ever lived in Nevada and had any of their formative memories attached to it, they would see how obvious this is.

I can almost never pick favorite songs from any given artist - hands down my favorite. Holds a special place, because it came on as I was driving through the Mojave Desert trying to figure out what the heck to do about a relationship. I took it to be a sign to walk away, and I did - but blasted this song on repeat the entire rest of the drive. Night + desert + this song = out of body experience.

I used to listen to this song all the time years ago. I was at the time considering moving on from my relationship and this song would hit hard every time. Back then I would asked myself all the time: "if I go on on with you by my side you can it be the way it was...". In the end it didn't and it was over. It's just sad how we sometimes change in ways we don't want to, we stop feeling things we hold dear to ourselves. Some feelings you just can't control sometimes. This song still hits hard today and I guess it ever will.
