It's relatable to how Dre is feeling and it's not only the being picked on by bullies, it's not easy to fit into a foreign country with different languages and vastly different cultures. Dre's mom cannot leave him alone in a foreign country where doesn't understand it's language, people and culture. Honestly, only she should have come to China alone while Dre is better off with a host family in America

The writing is what is annoying. But little kids are annoying. Complaining and crying is annoying. Nobody likes a cry baby. Being emotional and a cry baby are two different things. Being a cry baby is complaining and crying. Being emotional is natural unbreakable ability to accept the truth and only that alone. For example, if you lose a loved one, that is something worth crying about. Just make sure you cry though. Don't talk.

Jacob Smith Yep. Because they chosed Jaden Smith. A rapper that didn’t get his true calling yet at the time over another fucking american of that age that would have no problem with continuing the series.

I was born in 1980, I grew up seeing all the karate kid movies. I can wholeheartedly say, this movie is better than the original. You dont have to consider this a remake and just call this the kung fu kid. But this scene alone earns this movie the credit it deserves.

In the 2010 version of The Karate Kid, Dre's mother tells him that there was nothing left for them in Detroit because they had experienced financial struggles and difficulty finding work. This is why they moved to Beijing, China, where Dre's mother has been offered a job. The move to China represents a fresh start for them, but it is also a difficult transition for Dre as he has to adjust to a new culture and way of life. He may also feel homesick and miss the familiarity of his life in Detroit. This is why he gets emotional when talking about how he doesn't like being in China.

This is my favorite karate kid movie better than the 1984 version

Yeah, this scene is quite relatable because I went through some bullying in my childhood, it being prevalent for a short period around the age of 12-13, as I had a fight with one guy who was quite disrespectful at the time, along with other kids towards me, and while I was teaching myself martial arts from KZread at the time, I may not have had the experience to back it up, so I lost. Afterward, I heard him and the other kids mocking me from outside the window, and since that fight occurred after my curfew from hanging around outside, my mom grounded me, though I didn't tell her about the fight, not wanting her, in my head to see me as weak, and that I can handle my own problems. This is relatable with Dre, as he didn't want to tell her what was going on, breaking down in the process due to the stress of being bullied. I pretty much melted down silently, thinking about that fight, and cursing them who partook in my suffering, healing myself by listening to music. Overtime, I calmed down, and I forgave them, telling it to that same guy when he got involved in another bullying incident, even after he threatened my mother in person one time, cursing her out, but I wouldn't hesitate to fight if he did it again. God be with all of them to this day, and I still practice martial arts like Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and Boxing to this day, as a method of self-defense, as well as exercise.

NO GOING HOME!!!!

Nobody likes being bullied. I was bullied in high school because of my disability. I had fake friends and they talked bad about me behind my back. They said I’m in special education which I actually am. I have autism and people can tell that I do. Sometimes I do something i know I should do or not do. That’s how I do something that is smart or not

Because neither of these actors/actresses in the whole film are in the Mr Miyagi sector, it's unlikely that they are going to be given roles in Cobra Kai so instead, maybe years and years later, they should make a separate series for this film. There could be a Cobra Kai 2, as a sequel series for this film regardless of if there is a Karate Kid 2 or a Karate Kid 3 as sequels to this film or not.

Ralph Macchio said in an interview that they won't include Jackie Chan's & Jayden Smith's characters in CK series because they're not a part of the Miyagiverse, as he called it. This film stands on itself, different than the original Karate Kid. My theory is, Jackie Chan Karate Kid movie exists in CK. Demitri mentioned Jackie Chan once in an episode, so this movie might as well exists in Miyagiverse as a fiction material.
