Hi Barrett, thanks for the comments! Much appreciated. The tube is the HP3 milk pipe, it has the metal exterior, however inside is the clear silicone tube. It is more so for looks, as it has the same function as the clear silicone tube. I do agree, it looks great though. That was awesome. Thank you. I was hoping somebody would make this video. I was really hoping to get a feel for milk texture and milk system timing to see how good Jura is at differentiating say a latte from a latte macchiato (main difference being blended steamed milk vs layered). But the editing cut short (by a little bit) showing completed drinks with layering after they settled out. But I'm being picky. What you did was very time consuming (and cost a little bit of $$) so it is very appreciated.

Exactly. One of the issues with super automatics is the inability to alter the steamed milk to foam ratio, as can be done with a steam wand. Altering the ratio is required to prepare milk drinks properly. Thankfully, the Z10 does allow adjusting the steamed milk temperature.

Good question! The unit will change the water temp depending on what it is being used for. Green tea, Americano, or simply hot water. Hi Joanne, Thank you for the feedback. Yes, avoid oily beans. You can tell if a bean is too oily if you put it on a napkin...if it leaves an oil mark, its simply too oily for long term usage with the machine. Oily beans gum up the grinders. We want to avoid that for overall longevity. We do have our own locally roasted espresso beans that are non oily and safe for espresso machines and grinders. I demoed this at William Sonoma. I wanted just milk foam which came out cold, the store clerk didn’t know how to adjust the temperature to a hotter setting. How do you adjust the just foam/or just milk temperature?

Hi there, thanks for the feedback! I personally enjoy putting the strength setting to the max for full-bodied and bold falvour profiles. When you set the strength setting to the max, the machine will grind 16 grams of fresh beans for the beverage being brewed. The grinder is usually best in the middle setting, never put to the finest or most coarse. The volume is a personal preference. The machine settings are a traditional ratio and recipe. You can of course make personalization and customizations. Cheers!

On my Z6 you can just double click the espresso button and it makes double shot. Do you really have to go into the menu on the Z10 and scroll through to get a double shot? Great video by the way. I’m going to get the Z 10 now because of it.

Hi there, The caffè barista will be as close to an Americano. It is prepared in a similar way, a shot of coffee followed by a shot of hot water. The lungo will be a larger volume, but all the water will be brewed through the coffee grounds. I hope that helps clarify! Cheers.

Hi Matt, The Z10 comes with a preinstalled wifi connect. As long as you have the Cool Control turned on and attached to the Z10 it will work regardless of how you make a beverage (from the app or from the Z10 screen). Here are some additional notes: The Cool Control will work with the machine as is. If you choose to purchase a separate wifi connect for the 1L Cool Control, the only difference you will notice is when milk is running low in the Cool Control... When the milk runs low with the wifi connect installed in the Cool Control, on the screen of the Z10 the milk based beverages will fade in colour. This is a pre-notification to inform you to 'top up' the Cool Control with milk. If you do not buy a second wifi connect for your Cool Control, it will still work with the Z10, but instead of the milk based beverages fading in colour on the Z10 screen, the Cool Control will beep or a light will flash to let you know that the milk is running low. Hey there, the Z10 is the top-of-the-line machine. It has a wide variety of beverage options, hot and cold! Plus the brewing unit can accommodate 16 grams of coffee, since its bigger. This means you'll yield a stronger fuller fuller-bodied beverage compared to other brands. The Z10 is my favorite machine by far, I truly have enjoyed doing the demo on it.

The barista touch does not compare to a jura. My touch broke after 1 year use btw. Would not recommend. I don't have a jura currently. But do have a Delonghi La Specialista prestgio. Looking at getting the Jura as my next machine. Just wanted to give you an honest response from a former barista touch owner. 😊

Hi Syndee, The beverages the unit can make are listed below. With the cold brew, the Z10 uses a cold extraction process. It brews at a slower speed to extract most flavour. You can certainly max out the strength setting for your cold brew beverage, this will allow for the max amount of beans to be ground to yield a bold tasting beverage. Is there a way to add additional hot water to make an americano from an espresso rather than pushing additional water through the beans? This can often lead to bitterness.

The Americano selection in fact brews the espresso first then adds plain hot water. The default setting is 4 oz espresso plus 3 oz water, but it can be adjusted and saved.

It will do a rinse upon auto shut down but if you used milk you will need to run the milk cleaning program before shutting down for the day. Takes about 3 minutes and uses a cleaning product.

The process is easy to do and takes only a few minutes. Hello, The milk container is not a fridge 24/7. It is designed to be used for numerous hours up to about 6 hours. The milk sits in a stainless steel bowl within the cool control. You can store the inner part in the fridge if you'd like. The unit is not to be plugged in 24/7. Thanks.

Hi Sean, No the Jura machines have a built in burr grinder and will grind fresh espresso for a bean to cup experience each time. There is however a bypass chute most often used for decaf coffee at night. This chute requires a preground espresso/coffee using the measure scoop the unit comes with. Thank for the question!

My Z10 signature line at first startup says "drip tray not fitted" and there is no way to clear it out. Anyone has any hint? If I fill the tray with water the message changes to empty tray, but then when its empty it keeps saying "drip tray not fitted".

Hi there, I would suggest removing the drip tray for 20 seconds. This should reset the unit's sensors. Then replace the tray. Ensure the dredge draw container inside in also installed in place correctly. This should resolve the matter. Update on my story, after talking on the phone and showed videos on whatsapp to jura local support, we went on-site with the machine and they figured out that it was a defect, one of the switch/sensor was missing and they fixed it in 20min while we had a demo and coffee.

Hi Marianne, a Caffe Barista and Americano are similar but do differ with regard to the amount of espresso vs hot water. Both of these beverages result in a full-bodied specialty coffee. Generally, an Americano is one part espresso and then one part hot water. The Caffe Barista is more like a long coffee with a small amount of hot water added at the end. The Z10 does allow you to customize the volume, temperature, and strength as well for overall personalization.

For the cold beverages, just clarifying that the machine pours in cold milk

Hi Heather, I have not calculated exactly. But, roughly with our 1 KG bag of Excellente beans at approx $32 per bag, with the strength settings set to max on the Z10 (being 16 grams per shot) it would be approx. 62 beverages per bag. Therefore $32 / 62 = $0.516 cents per shot with our most premium beans. Ciao for now!

This is as states but NOT in the instructions at all * You MUST unplug the cooler (Fridge on the JURA site) or your milk will be frozen by morning. Nothing states this any ware. If i new this before buying , It would make me rethink the item. Hope this helps. I learned this direct from JURA support. The tech also stated the board goes bad after a wile, in my case 1 year 2 months, then the milk freeze solid hard every morning.

Hi Rio, Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to hear that the milk has become frozen. You did the correct thing by connecting with a Jura tech. The milk coolers are intended to be used for a few hours and not intended to be on like a regular fridge 24/7. On page 13 of the instruction booklet it suggests to unplug and store away if not going to be used for a long period of time. Hi there, Jura's milk clean cycles take between 2-4 minutes. The machine will do the work for you, you simply need to set up the cleaning carafe with the milk clean tabs and press the clean button. Jura frothers are unique and this is a similar milk clean cycle seen on all the Jura units. Have a great day!

My Jura F50 just died, it says I’ve made 10,501 (probably that extra one that killed it lol) since 2004. Well worth the money if they last that long

So disappointed with my JuraZ10 it didn’t even give me a chance to taste any coffee. It got stuck on setup. I got stuck at filtering process. It kept on saying filling the machine, press the rotary button and empty Walter filter. I did this about 15 times filling the water container as well. Not cool at all. Disappointed 😢 😔 ☹️

Hi Liz, I am so sorry to hear that. I am sure you got it sorted by now. Under the bean hopper lid, behind the by pass or water tank there is a phone number to connect you to a Jura tech. It sounds like an air lock, as the pump is dry upon unboxing that may happen. They would be able to answer your technical questions and troubleshoot directly. The Z10's have been getting good feedback. Your issue is not common and I trust a Jura tech can certainly pin point what was happening and resolve the matter for you promptly. Best, Consiglio's Team

The machine looks beautiful, but there’s nothing that’s easy about how to custom program a drink. For example, she literally just skipped right over how to make an Americano, which, having the machine do it all itself was the number one reason I bought it and there’s no simple wayto figure it out. She pushed the button inside.
