​@@TPShanksthe only thing that bothers me about viz calling him zolo is that they originally called him zoro. And in later editions changed it to zolo. I believe only the first 5 or 6 volumes had it as zoro before it got changed. I have two volumes with his name as zoro.

zolo lol Keep at it! Oda hits each of the major points of good narratives with the deep plot, compelling characters, and vast world building. You will love this series, guaranteed!

Be prepared, it doesn't move that fast for long. It'll start slowing down. Just try to tough it out until chapter 400-500 because then it starts getting ready good, eventually you'll except the slow pacing because it makes it interesting.

@@shyrolax6244 because they only become good arcs after readers found out what they meant later on. I enjoyed them but if you were to ask the majority they'd say those are bad arcs. Time skip is where everything starts getting way better.

tbf he's at the start where arcs r normal length, and it still moves at a decent pace it's just long, the anime on the other hand is long and has slow pacing

I found a physical copy of the first volume in a Good Will few days ago. It cost three bucks. I wanted to have a keepsake for when the series ends. I wanted a Demon Studios devil fruit replica but unfortunately the site shut down. But having the first volume of a long running manga is even better bc one day, my kids are gonna ask "daddy, what's that on the bookshelf?" And I'm gonna say "kids, sit down, I'm gonna tell you a story about a boy in a strawhat."

It does move quickly - even the anime - but only for maybe the first 50 to 80 Episodes. After that it is getting a lot slower.

@@JodaroKujo it wasn't because of 4kids but that's what 4kids used too, the Japanese lettering for L and R are rlly similar so they are often used interchangeably with they biggest example being zolo and zoro

It’s because Japanese has one liquid consonant which can be pronounced either l or r depending on context so Japanese to English translations can be different

you will be shocked if you ever visit Japan and find out how insanely POPULAR One Piece is in Japan 😂😂 it's like Harry Potter in the UK. fun fact: One Piece is the second most sold comic after Superman beating Batman and Spiderman, it sold over 500 million copies so far. One Piece is as popular as Pokemon and you can find merch anywhere in Japan from all stores and they have Live performances each year in USJ ( Universal Studio Japan), live size boat, and statues of the strawhats can be found in the state where Oda (the author ) lives too!
