Guys a starter avg 11ppg 4 assist 6 boards, shoots 32% from three and doesn't make up for it on the defensive end averaging 0 steals 0 blocks a game, a poor defender at guard and forward plus he's slow and doesn't give much playing off ball since he can't play off ball.. he's just hindering the team, it's 5 vs 4 cuz players leave him wide open. He's only somewhat effective when he's got the ball in his hands. Giddey splits mins with Cason Wallace now. He needs to goto a team that needs a lead guard, where he can run the show. Like Toronto, Brooklyn, San Antonio, Chicago.

Three seasons. He isn't very good, nor has he improved enough. I'd give him another year or two to prove himself. But, bare minimum, he isn't a good fit with the Thunder. Can see him being out of the league in a couple seasons. But, I think it's more likely he ends up on the bench for his career, unless his shooting improves.

I usually love your vids man, but I don't agree at all. He JUST turned 21. We are 1st in the NBA in 3pt %. We don't need Giddy to be an elite shooter, wanted him to be a facilitator, which he does. Would it be nice if his shot was more consistent? Of course, but the dude almost averages a triple double. He was getting mercilessly booed and heckled every time he touched the ball. OKC is back and forth at #1 in the West with the candidate for MVP and also Coach of the Year… I’m BEYOND positive they’re operating as they should lmao. Don't get me wrong, I get the concerns over Giddey's play but at the same time dude's been starting all season and the Thunder are battling for the #1 seed in the west. Sure he's not a shooter nor a great driver but OKC's not really ever asked him to do either a crazy amount until this year. His roll has drastically changed and it's gonna take awhile to either retool his game or find a different roll for him. I doubt he was ever really in serious trade talks nor will he be out of the league next year. OKC's not gonna just dump him, he's no Killian Hayes.

giddey's problem is less his 3pt shot and more his lack of touch around the rim. he needs to figure out how to use the backboard instead of trying to float everything in. he rims out so many shots from within 5 feet. giddey averages 3 three attempts per game. if he hit at 39% instead of 30%, that would mean every third game he'd hit one additional three (roughly).

He will be out of the league soon? That’s a bafflingly bad take. Is he playing as well as hoped? No. but he is (&has been since he was drafted) the best rebounder and passer on the thunder. That mavs game you were talking about? 18/3/5 6/7 from 2 2/7 from 3 You make it sound like he hit 1 shot. Stats for this month? 55% from the floor. 14/6/4 in 24 mins. Not bad for a 21 year old who is playing 7 minutes per game less that his first 2 years & is now the fourth option on the team with the best record in the west.

Defenses are just not guarding him from outside..and he isn't getting as many extremely easy looks inside . Some still but not as many as like last year.

Josh Giddey can be a traditional PG not much of a scoring but elite at passing. I would love him to be traded in spurs with wemby and spurs acquire shooters. That would be deadly i swear.

He's been hooping recently. When he runs the point when shai sits he still can play. He needs consistent shooting. His passing and being young will keep him in the league.

This is a tricky one - He’s obvious not having a good season with some pretty horrible 3-point shooting but I think it’s still too soon to count him out. He doesn't have the athleticism either but we’ve seen him make it work with his 9 triple-doubles etc.

He's always been a poor shooter scorer. -5% league relative TS. Sure, give him another year or two. But, I'd say less than 40% chance of proving he can start on a contending team. I think he'll play off bench & struggle to crack playoff rotations. This season is probably a sign of what's come.

He’s just having a tough season due to the scandal, nobody was saying none of this about Giddey when he had a clean image and was playing good.

As a thunder fan its been tough to see giddey's performance this season. I still think he can be a viable player when he gets his confidence back. Same guy that dropped 31 10 and 9 in a play-in win against the pelicans last year. hes a quirky player that give give defenses trouble at times when hes driving hard and his floater is hitting. he is truly one of the best passers in the game. The trajectory of his career depends on his 3-point shot development.

He is the best passer on the team, he is one of thier better rebounders & he is adjusting from being the second option on offense to the 4th or 5th option because now he is about the 8th best scorer on the team instead of 2nd & it's all because they have gotten better players not that he has gotten worse, does he deserve a max contract? hell no, does he deserve a contract & playing time? yes he does, he adds to the team, they are better with him & you have to have role players on your team & this team has at least 3 future max guys at this point, thats about all you can pay.

I agree. Worst that happens is Thunder move on and he goes to another team. He's 21 and still has lots of time to get past some of his current limits. Out of the league is absurd.

This video is embarassing. Josh Giddey's +/- is down because Daigneault has needed to adjust his minutes and positional play, to bring all the pieces together. It has resulted in winning basketball and doesn't signal the end of the 21 year old's career.

I guess it never occurred to this basketball savant that Giddy's scoring is down because Williams shot attempts are up and Chet is taking 12 shots a game that no one in the OKC front court was taking last season. Giddy is shooting 46% from the field, which is good for a guard and he's averaging 6 rebounds a game, which is great for a guard. Does he need to improve his jumpshot? Yes. Is that enough of a problem that he's about to be out of the league? No. He's 21, 6'8, a good ball handler, and a very good passer. Ricky Rubio lasted over a decade without a consistent jumper.

Josh is probably just having a andrew Wiggins effect. Not focusing on ball but another problem(which he should but still, makes you look like a bust)

Out of the league is a bit of a stretch but he really hasn’t improved much in fact seems to have gotten worse on defense. On this team he really needs to improve his defense and shooting while keeping up his passing. There’s so much talent and he’s just floating amongst them.
