What a great episode! I've kept this one in regular rotation while I draw since it dropped, and it is so inspiring and informative.

This purchase was a no-brainer for me. Part of the Steranko mystique is how rare any new art was for decades, so if you're a fan, the response to any new jolt of it is like the awakening of a long-dormant addiction. The second volume was planned to be some of his best stuff, including Captain America and the short stories, but has been delayed for years by Steranko wanting to produce new chapter breaks or covers for every story, leaving us junkies twitching for it in the alleys.

Regarding Ed's comment at 26:57 about the field of black triangles and white triangles -- that's an effect that Don Heck used occasionally in his science fiction stories for Atlas in the late 50s and early '60s. (I've got a ton of early '70s reprints of that stuff.) I don't know whether Steranko swiped it or if he came up with the idea independently, but I'm betting on the former.

Excellent job, guys! Steranko artwork evolves quickly with a great kickstart from the King! Stan is a ringmaster and Steranko is a showman! We been very lucky to have him drop by Buffalo twice in the last 20 years! Steranko has small body of work for comics but the quality shows over 50 years later ! Thanks! Keep making COMIX!

Wonder why this one took so long to be released... you can always tell the time by the amount of Red Room books being hyped at the beginning 😂

I had the pleasure of meeting Steranko, loved his work. It was Gulacys art work on M.O.K.F. that drew me to love comics all together.

You are so much more awesome than me. When I was, like, 42 years old I was in a Walmart health and beauty department and briefly thought about buying an eye patch and wearing it to work for a day, to be like Nick Fury. I myself immediately quashed the idea, without consulting my mom. I suck.

This is the first time I heard someone else mention Coober Skeber! I still have my copy. I remember Ron Rege's Spider-Man blowing my mind at the time. Time for a re-read!

I just received my own copy of this four days ago! My wife is annoyed, not by the cost but by the sheer size of this book. Not sure where we're going to put this thing. So great, though.

Thank you for going through this this way, you jerks! Now I HAVE to buy ANOTHER book! What, you people, and the publisher of those Artisan Editions think I'm just freakin' MADE of money?!!? Sigh...I'm also buying the Simonson one. Picked up the Romita one already. P.S. I always find it funny when an artist uses the word "draw-er" to describe an artist.😆😆
