the movie tells otherwise, but I love the fan theory that the Jetsons and Flintstones live in the same world, but different societies. One where the one small group lives in a highly technological world above the clouds, the others were left down in their low-tech world. a dark-n-gritty remake mixed with that theory would be great O_O

Well, this is the last movie before the death of Daws Butler, Mel Blanc and George O'Hanlon. This is my personal favorite crossover animated movie of all time by Hanna Barbera. God bless Nostalgia.

Penny Singleton, too. (The ONLY one in the cast who sounded like Janet "Judy" Waldo). BTW Betty is WAY off (the only one not voiced by her original artist aside from Fred, due to Bea Benedaret's 1968 death, as well as Alan Reed's 1977 one.)

The greatest crossover ever made. I'm not kidding - this was the first time I ever saw a crossover as a little kid, and it totally blew my mind - I was like - Can they - can do this?! After that I wanted to make crossovers of all my favorite cartoons - I wanted to make a crossover between Beetlejuice, Muppet Babies, and Tiny Toons. It never occurred to me they were owned by different studios.

I was eight when it came out, and I've always sort of vaguely remembered watching it as a kid, but only the one time (pretty sure my parents rented the VHS for me). I didn't actually remember anything about the plot except for, well, the title concept. Weirdly, one thing I do remember (I think) is watching it in my parents' room, because there was a VCR in there and my parents were probably watching something else in the living room.

Well Hanna Barbara did make a spin off of I Dream of Jeannie that I kid you not featured a genie voiced by Joe Besser of The Three Stooges.

I'm a 90's kid and I remember that when they re-aired this crossover special on television and I was blown away! This was practically my very first crossover and at that time, I had no idea that this could be possible! Thanks for covering this film. It really reminded me of something nostaligic. ;p

Weird crossover, because continuity wise it doesn't make sense. In an earlier episode of the Jetsons Elroy says he's watching a repeat of the Flintstones... I never got that part...

I more feel like NC is running out of ideas; he's trying to avoid reviewing the big guns, so he's reviewing shit no one would even otherwise think about. This is two weeks straight now, IMO.

The Jetsons met the Flintstones and here I am still waiting for the Addams to meet the Munsters...

I don’t think that would be such a great idea... I think it’s better that those families should stay separate since their kind of different when it comes to gothic things.

16:07 that’s my favorite Mortal Kombat Finisher.

I loved this movie as a kid!... I was born in 1989, loved watching 'The Flintstones', loved watching 'The Jetsons' & didn't see this movie until sometime in the mid-1990's.

The Red Dwarf clip gets you bonus points. I love that show, and that scene in it's entirety is hilarious.

I think this was actually part of the Hanna-Barbera Super-Stars 10 package back in the 1980s, along with other Hanna-Barbera characters like Huckleberry Hound, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo, and the Jetsons (AGAIN)!

I think it could work because with an animated cinematic universe, there's even more possibilities. We've seen HB toons crossover before, but never in a single continuity where each solo project leads to a crossover over and over again.

Since Nostalgia-Ween is coming up why don't you make a Nostalgia Critic on the scariest Non-horror Neo-Western: No Country For Old Men

I found this crossover on video at a small antique shop I visited with my parents. The shop was called "The Brown Elephant." There were hardly any other videos available at the store so I picked it up. I brought it home and put it in my VCR the next day. I could not stop laughing the first time I watched it. I personally rate this crossover way higher than you do, but I still like the review. I still own the videotape copy today. I also really like the teamwork message at the end of the adventure where Fred and Barney put their conflicts behind them.

Does this mean that the Flintstones and the Jetsons live in the same universe? Does this mean that in this universe the upper class get to live in the futuristic city in the sky and the peasantry live on the ground? I HAVE SO MUCH QUESTIONS

One-episode plot line. Forgotten after due to no real continuity. Similar to the fact that any episode saying the Flintstones' address had a different address each time.

I remember watching this all the time on an old videotape with "Hey There, It's Yogi Bear!" You should review that one too considering the 2010 crappy version.

I love the Red Dwarf clip i couldnt help but think about that when watching your review.

Been really loving the fact that you been reviewing 80s and 90s stuff more, granted the 00s are nostalgic I love it when you go back to the childhood stuff.

Wow, it certainly convenient that Fred was able to adapt to the drastic changes of a world 30,000 years advanced from his own... and was able to return home before he developed future shock and went on an uncontrollable rampage :p

Fred and George certainly adjusted well in the different time periods. I remember watching a Twilight Zone episode where a janitor in 1890 traveled to 1962 and had a hard time adjusting to it. He returns to 1890 with a scientist from 1962. The scientist wanted to live in the past but he couldn't adapt either so the janitor sent the scientist back to 1962.

DC Comics missed a huge opportunity by having the fairly recent comic incarnations of the "modernized" Jetsons and Flintstons having a crossover too. Then again, considering how DC Comics once again has its head up their ass with their decisions as of late, that's not too surprising.

The recent Flintstones comic was better than it had any right to be IMO, just wish they did more Future Quest/ Space Ghost comics.

Could you review 9 directed by Shane Acker at some point in the near future? The movie had gained a cult following and it’s been almost ten years since it’s release on 9/09/09. There are also many mixed reviews on this movie. Some people say it's good and some say it's bad. It's also an theatrical abimated movie that's rated PG-13, which is not common.

That sounds like it would be more suitable for "Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews".

I'm 32 and this movie makes me want to go back in time, visit the McDonald's ball pit, go home, play with Hot Wheels cars and watch TV in my bedroom while eating candy. It never feels the same as an adult, especially the ball pit.

I always knew this special happened, but part of me wanted to just believe it was a strange fever dream.

I saw this once. Laff-a-Lympics so that's what it was called.

@@apex2000 Not by a long shot. In 1972, there was a TV movie called Yogi's Ark Lark, and that led to a SatAM series called Yogi's Gang; both of which featured nearly all of H-B's funny animal characters together. Laff-A-Lympics didn't come out until 1977.
