So interesting and encouraging to read so many comments from people talking about how they watched and rewatched this film as a child, like I did too. Jesus' story has a special lure for children.

I had a privilege to watch this film at my home town in the year 1979. The year 1984 I have showing different part of our country India about 3 years in different languages. The year 1986 i have start the translation work. I have coordinated to dub 50 Indian languages. The year 2019 we dubbed two languages. Still dat I am using this film. My life changing tool is Jesus film.

When I was 13 I started watching this movie and other Jesus movies, and I knew that he was real, at an age when a lot of children stop believing. I pray that movies like this be shown more on tv and in schools so that people can see and believe.

I grew up as a missionary kid in Cameroon and I've seen this movie over a dozen times as a child. They would show it regularly in different villages to bring people to Christ. This is the first time I've seen it again at the age of 29. It's Good Friday and I am going through one of the hardest periods of my life. This movie helped remind me that God exists within me. I pray that I feel his power again.

I'm only a half hour in so far, and this is the best movie I've seen yet Biblically speaking. The Bible is quoted always, and I'm hoping it's like that all the way through. Have to go sleep, but I'll be back to watch the rest of THIS one!

I was 6 or 7 years old when I first saw this movie at church. I have seen it several times since, and it means more to me everyone I see it! It has been 30 or 40 since the last time I saw it. It means a whole lot more to me now than then, because just like the scripture, it's coming true, with the end times. Too bad the credits were lost, as it told a story as well. I don't know how long it took them to make this picture, but the truths are still the same if not more so foday. God bless and keep you for posting this testimony, and spreading the word. Thank you for the blessing of His Holy Word. Thank you.

Im 26. I remember owning this vhs when I was young. Somthing about this film compelled me to rewatch it and now i watch this every night before i go to bed. God is king Hallelujah.

I love this movie. I grew up watching this movie and I found it very comforting that it is Biblical and follows the Gospel of Luke. Jesus Christ is the son of the most high God. If you have not accepted Christ in your life I tell you accept him now for the time is short and tomorrow is not promised. He died for you as you will see in this film. God bless you all and spread Gods love and go in peace. Do not be deceive the the tricks of the devil and do not give place to anger or evil. I was about 8 yrs old when I’d play this movie over and over on my VHS at night. It would literally end, rewind, and play again. Idk why but I loved watching this and falling asleep to it. This was only in the 90s and 2000s at this time

Lol I did the same thing in the early 90s. I just turned 41. This movie had a profound impact on my life. I think it’s because they follow the book of Luke which was unique for a movie.

The Lord He is the God, Emmanuel God with us. Watching this movie reminds me how much Jesus loves me, for heaven came to earth in the form of Jesus and the grace of God is Jesus living in me. Having learn from His life, we can apply His character in our hearts. My favorite is the resurrection and when Jesus came through the wall and said peace to his disciples after which Thomas believe, but blessed are they which have not seen but believe,hey that's me and you, Jesus is alive,He is the greatest, Christ in me the hope of Glory. Absolutely, this movie is better than the new version. The performance of actress are vivid and their actions make us as plain as grasping the essential meaning in the gospel of new testament. Wonderful movie was produced in the year of 1979.

I grew up on this movie born 1992 28 now I love this movie.Hearing about Jesus in church and believing then watching this wonderful movie made me believe even more to love him and I’m black.And I really don’t care about his skin color the race/skin color doesn’t matter.I love him

+Mike Green Amen sir! I love the scene where Jesus forgives the prostitute. I felt the same way she did when I came to Christ four years ago. I was already recovered from alcoholism seven years but taking the step to accept the Lord as my Savior was an opportunity for me to finally walk with Him in faith and be forgiven. This film is given to every new person in our church which is a Bible-believing, non-denominational church in New Jersey. Thank you Jesus! I cherish this film as well.

The voice of Alexander Scourby is magnificent! The narration using the King James Bible makes all the difference because the language is so majestic! I think this version of the Jesus film was excellent!

Jesus lived, died, and rose from the dead to save mankind from the sins they commit. Though He was innocent, He suffered torture, unspeakable humiliation, and horrific pain. He died on a cross like a convicted criminal but then rose on the third day while still entombed. Jesus will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Will you be prepared for His coming?

I suggest a different one-sentence summary: "A holy God sends his righteous Son to die for unrighteous sinners so we can be holy and live happily with God forever." - please don't let the passage you mention be an excuse to remain blind to God's truth.

Jesus is the living Word of God. He died to save us from our sins because the only punishment for sin is death. He love you enough to die for you.

If you see a blind man walking in front of a moving truck wouldn't you try to save him. It is a Christian's responsibility to try to save unbelievers. Jesus didn't want anybody to perish but for all to come to repentance and be saved from "The White Throne Judgment". I've shown you the destiny of an unbeliever the choice is up to you.

This film is evergreen to me. It's always new and fresh every time I revisit it. This is the only film about Jesus I ever watched in full. The main actor depicted Jesus Character the way the Bible seems to portray it. In fact, when I first saw it, I thought I had seen the real Jesus Christ.

I'd recommend you actually read the bible before you start preaching it my good friend.

I see some comments , and some people will not accept eternal life, they really want to die (of course after their life given) . The idea is so simple, accept Jesus = Jesus takes your sins! Therefore you will be in His present forever. You must follow Him, like Him, study about his work. If you dont want to accept Him , He can not offer you eternal life, because you will not feel good there...

DontCloudMe Please When i have a cut or a i am feeling ill, i drink holy water, it makes me heal very fast. i dont believe in science products like vitamin c and iodene, they should have holy water in all the hospitals and priests instead of doctors. then there would be no more ill people.

Brother/sister, no Christian depends on holy water to be healed. We pray to be healed, but we also need to take medicine to get well, so its acceptable to take vitamin c or any other medicine. God doesn't condemn science so logically a Christian (including me) can take any medicine to heal the sickness, while we can still pray. Medicine isn't forbidden. No Christian says im going to pray to God to heal me yet I will do nothing to take care of my body. No Christian says "im not going shopping, I'm going to pray to go shopping", that's not what Christianity teaches us. We do pray for God to keep His blessings on us and help us endure difficulties, but we don't just stand idle doing nothing. Both prayer and taking action correlate. I don't know what my Christian brother/sister said in the comment upwards to have u say this. God bless
