This is great song

Gary and Jerry might be on better terms now. I went to both of their shows this year. Gary mentioned his father several times in stories, both positively during the show. Then Jerry referred to Gary as his number #1 son, and showed a clip from the '57 Jerry Lewis Show which I have on my channel. Then he talked about him after the clip. Also Jerry was asked during his recent show in Phoenix, what his biggest accomplishment was, and he said that it was his six sons. He definitely loves them all.

Gary was so handsome and Ronnie was cute singing "Poison Ivy."

Lol. It's okay to rant. :) It was the one with Jerry performing Sonny Boy first with his father Danny, and then after that with little Gary. The full episode of that is on my channel.

So I finally found the video that some Jerry hater freaked out about. They said Jerry publicly humiliated Gary by kissing him on the lips on TV. Sorry, but Gary doesn't look humiliated, he kissed Jerry back. What's wrong with showing a little father/son affection in front of people... Sheesh. I thought it was cute :)

I thought it was beautiful. Gary didnt mind at all. Even calling his boys seetheart was lovely. So all you Lewis haters you dont know what youre talking about. R.I.P. Jerry.

Don't forget jerry Lewis' family was from Russia....

"I can dry awfully..." Jer is a clever wordsmith at times. "Give the chance a kid..."hahaha

That box is the '67-68 series. The only other b&w Jerry Lewis Show episode that was officially available to buy, was one episode of the '63 talk show series that he did. Unfortunately the '57-'60 b&w episodes were never officially released. I was only able to obtain them through a seller, and these are the only complete episodes that I have. He did more than I have here, but these were really tv specials than weekly episodes that he did during those years. I'm still looking for the other ones.

That was so funny! No comedian could touch Jerry in his heyday.

Skygirlsixtwo Unfortunately l've been seeing a lot of slamming of Jerry, & it is disgusting. There's a lot of haters, even slamming him as a Racist. Some people who have absolutely nothing good to say are missing out on the rewards of kindness, & standing up for what's right .

There's no way I believe he was a bad father.

+HisEternalDaughter i dont either. he was a genius and very busy man. sacrfices are made ........HIs first wife said he sometimes had a bad temper and impatient with the childrens discipline. So she took it upon herself to discipline the children and he concentrate on his work and be the provider...Thats how many families operated in those days...

Love him kissing Gary. Ron was their adopted son, and you can see the pride he had for him as much as the others. Sadly some critics loved to give him bad press. His manager and friend Joe Stabile said Jerry was a good father.

Out of curiosity, which clip did Jerry show?

In 2010, Gary blamed Jerry for the death of his son Joseph. Gary said that Jerry was never there for Joseph.

Jerry helped his son Gary during his drug problems, but he never seems to mention that.... Jerry was there for Joseph, but Joseph chose to sell his dad out for money and write stories that he was "abusive." All his stories amounted to was being punished and whipped on the bottom for misbehaving. That does not equal abuse. Even other sons admitted that Jerry was a strict disciplinarian but not without good reason. Joseph also claimed his father never hugged or cared about him. Well that simply isn't true. Even in the same tabloid where Joseph said he never was hugged by his father, there was a picture of him being hugged by his father, and in another being tickled by him as a child. I've even seen videos of him being kissed by Jerry. I'm not saying they had a great relationship by any means, but Joseph did lie. Jerry tried to contact Joseph after the article came out, but he disappeared. Later on it seems Jerry did disown him. He also saw Joseph in the audience at one of his shows, and thought he was going to kill him. Fortunately nothing happened. I like Gary, but I don't believe everything he says. I would like to know what Gary did to help Joseph.

+Donazify You can't go by what Jerry did in front of the camera (hugs, kisses). He lived to be in front of the camera. He was not there for his children, or his first wife. He was too busy saving the world's children.

Donazify I think when Jerry & Patti got their divorce, she became so hurt & jealous that she was so bitter, she turned the boys against & away fr. Jerry. They were already saddened. So, w/ empathy they sided with their Mother.

Oh jeez, blame the kid for getting into drugs in the first place. Everyone plays the blame game. Some people don't want help.

He was very good, but how was he? No good. What's with all that schtick. It's a good tune, but is it a good number? No.

Part 2...father to the public when you are not in a psychiatrist's office? So, Jerry was a workaholic perfectionist who could be a dick sometimes. So what? Why does Gary have to tell the media about it? What entertainment value does that have? A media that is only listening to him BECAUSE OF WHO HIS FATHER IS! Jerry's other son Anthony said it best, (I am paraphrasing) "When farmer Joe whacks his kid for kicking the cat, it's another day on the farm, Dad yells at one of us, it's front page news.
