When Sherman Hemsley died I was surprised to learn that he was born in 1938. That put him in his early thirties when he first played George Jefferson on All in the Family. Lionel was his college-age son. He and Mike Evans were only about 10 years apart in true age. Isabel Sanford was more than 20 years older than Sherman Hemsley!

Pleased to see Mr. Helmsley is resting in such a well maintained place of honor where his gravesite will be cared for.
Thanks for this tribute Steve, The Jeffersons was one of the best sitcoms of the 70s. I used to work just down the street from South Philadelphia High School, which Sherman attended. I also remember years ago that he was not buried for several months after his death due to a dispute over his will. A very talented man.

That story about Sherman’s is the saddest. Took almost a year to bury him. 🥲
The Jeffersons were one of my favorite shows!! And all the actors were fantastic. Great video!!
When they bury in a national cemetery, they go row by row until a section is filled up, so Sherman being where he is was just because...thats what was being opened next. RIP to the cast!
Great tribute Steve. They were all great talented people. God bless the Jefferson's.

My Dad was instrumental in guiding the family member who finally acquiesced and had Mr. Hemsley interned at Ft. Bliss. Being a veteran himself, he knew that Sheman as vet had benefits including a place in a National cemetery. He was popular in his neighborhood, where he'd go walking, and at the grocery store where he'd often be recognized. RIP Sherman Hemsley.
I miss them all. What a great show that brings joy and happiness to me every day I watch it.

The Jeffersons is one of the greatest sitcoms ever...in my opinion. But my mother who is 88 now, swears to this day that she would often see Marla Gibbs in the hallways of Wendell Phillips here in Chicago, but nobody believed her because she kept saying that Marla had a different name. So some years ago, I did some research, and sure enough...Marla had a name change at some point, so go figure.

I too enjoyed the “Jefferson’s “. I watched it as a weekly program and have watched it in reruns. There were not many shows that had a interracial marriage back then. Thank you Mr. Steve for letting us know what happened to these great actors and it great some are still alive, OT.
One of the best sitcoms ! Thank you for doing this .
I met Sherman at an opening for a themed restaurant. (Houston Texas) He was very short (even shorter than he appeared on TV). He was friendly and gave me an autograph. Sorry no pictures as I did not carry a camera with me. I always liked the show. Everyone of course loved "weasey". May they RIP knowing how much joy they brought to us with this show. Marla Gibbs who played the housekeeper is still with us. You go girl! Another great stop Steve. Thanks 😁😁😀😀
When I met Sherman Hemsley he was very soft spoken, and he and his agent invited me to a taping of the show. I wasn't in the audience but I watched it in his dressing room with some producers or something.

Thank you, Steve! I love All in the Family and The Jeffersons! Those shows and the characters were a big part of my teen years. It was nice you put Weezie in the same edition as George! Only seems right. To fans, they were married! Most cast members died rather young. They all made us laugh!!! Such a small world.
Isabel Sanford spent quite a bit of time here in the suburbs of Atlanta. I believe it was her son that opened up a restaurant near me called "Weezie's." I wish I had gone there as now it is closed! Nice to think she lived so close by me! I thought she actually died here in Atlanta but I guess I was wrong!
I lived very close to Sherman in El Paso. He did not drive so he walked to the grocery store and to the local café, etc. it was very surreal to see him sometimes on a daily basis, and getting a chance to say hi and some small talk. El Paso was a refuge of sorts for him and his partner until both sadly passed. His partner passed away years prior, and I am unsure where he is buried. Sherman spent his remaining years with his long time housekeeper, and good friend. I had not seen Sherman around for quite some time, and I figured that he may be sick and then it was not too much longer that they did announce his death. Both of my parents are also buried at Fort Bliss, and after my mothers death, I moved to Oceanside California. Great job Steve! Enjoy your vids.

Thanks so much for this video!!! Isabell Sanford was about 13 years older than Sherman Hemsley!!!
Another great video. I used to watch this show and some of the ages make me feel old.
Thanks for this great presentation. I never realized that "Weezy" was that old. So she was already in her late 50's when the Jefferson's first aired in 1975. My favorite cast member was Roxie Roker. She was super funny and carried herself with such class.
THANKS STEVE. it was a Good Idea that you covered the whole cast death, burial, or the cause of death and final resting place all in one video.. Brilliant idea.👍👏👏👏. I just remember when Sherman Hemsley died that his burial was delayed. Sherman left most if not everything to his housekeeper. The person who took care of him till he passed. Allegedly. His brother protested the will because he was not in it. Was not left anything. I thought how Disrespectful. To delay Sherman Hensley burial because of that. Good it was finally settled and Mr Hemsley was laid to rest. I was shocked when I heard that Isabel Sanford was older. It didn't show on the show, I never would of guessed Weezie was older than George. They were good on the show. Seemed to get on well. To list the cause of each death and where they are buried, if they were. My sister bought the whole Jefferson seasons on DVD. She loved that show that much. Mother Jefferson and Florence stole the show.Reruns of The Jefferson still come on. I do remember Amen. Mainly the last bit, before the show ended. I'll have to share this video with my baby sister. I'm sure she know the show better than me since she was a bigger fan. I like the show ok, but she loved it enough to buy every episode. I thought Ralph and Mr Bentley was also funny. It was good to know that besides Marla Gibbs, the other actors that are still alive.. You do a good job with your videos Steve. Take care,✌🖖. Love, respect and positivity always. Neita james.🙂👋..
