From the one's you mentioned in the vlog, Donald Pleasence and Joseph Wiseman were both phenomenal actors. Regardless of what they were in, their performances were always spectacular. Also, considering the "Bond Films" began in 1962, many of those associated with the productions have departed this earth.

Steve, glad you asked. My favorite 007 film is Goldfinger. This is the film where a James Bond driven car enters a narrow alley way on two wheels and exits riding on the two wheels of the other side! Shirley Bassey singing the film theme, the Golden Girl , the lovely Tania Mallet (whose cousin is the fabulous and beautiful Helen Mirren). Add the elegant and stunning Honor Blackman (woo-woo!) whom made my and other young men of my generation socks go up and down and this film stands out. Kudos to Oddjob and his killer hat as well as Gert Frobe as Goldfinger. As Bond is struggling on a table to which he is tied as a laser beam travels slowly toward his outstretched legs he says to Auric Goldfinger, "Do you expect me to talk Goldfinger?" "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die." Then Frobe leaves without so much as a by your leave.

I saw my first Bond film, From Russia With Love at the age of 7. I was addicted immediately. When I was in college I went on a tour of a fabric showroom in Toronto with my class. When we were in the store there was this very striking woman sitting at a desk. Everyone recognized her but we couldn’t remember her name . The man conducting the tour introduced her as Miss Moneypenny, Lois Maxwell. It was amazing that we all knew that familiar face.

Sean Connery was the 2nd actor to play James Bond, the first actor was Barry Nelson in a 1955 version of Casino Royale on TV on a show called Climax Theatre. Remember Barry Nelson was the hotel manager who hired Jack Nicholson to manage the hotel during the winter in The Shinning. I remember Harold Odd Job Sakata came to Atlanta for a concert with the Atlanta Symphony in the 1970's, where conductor Robert Shaw played James Bond music. I was a poor college student but figured that was worth it.

Great video, as always. :) I have a book about the life of Lotte Lenya by Donald Spoto, and her real life was fascinating, exciting, and often tragic. Her life would make a better movie than most movies I've seen. She was married to Kurt Weill, the composer for The Threepenny Opera, which ultimately spawned the single Mack the Knife. If you've heard the Bobby Darin version, he put her name into the list of fictional women ("Look out Miss Lotte Lenya").

Steve... What a great vlog! Sean Connery is the best James Bond ever. But then Connery could recite the alphabet and I would listen over and over to his oh so sexy voice. Say did you hear that my state of Nevada made news in the 2022 election? Take care of your allergies...stay away from the ice cream and please give us part 2. Now I will be humming the music from the Bond movies all day. Please say hi to your husband. Does Jim have allergy problems as well?

I totally can’t wait to see part 2 because hopefully it has one of my favorite actors Christopher Lee who I know as Saruman in the lord of the rings and hobbit franchises, Count Dooku in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars and King Hagrid in the last unicorn but I also know him because he was related to Ian Fleming and also because he was a descendant of confederate General Robert Edward Lee and Robert the Bruce king of Scotland.
