Hello Jonny, I wonder how do you know at 5:22 that with the scale of Cminor, the chords used are Cm + Dº + Eb + Fm + Gm + Ab + Bb ? Like what is the logical progression ? With this progression I would be able to train easily on the other scales !

when i got to scales intermediate, for G, it made the notes higher so its harder now, c ause they over lap, and obv it sounds like shit under middle c what should I do?
Oh my goodness THANK YOU Jonny for this. I am a piano teacher and though I am very good at music theory (it was my major in college, I was the only one in the school who liked it enough to get a degree in it LOL), improvisation, comping, and arranging, I have never been a natural at Blues or Jazz. This tutorial is amazing. I love how you've made the scales and inversions fun with tasty rhythms -- I had no idea that the swing rhythm you are using was called the Charleston. I will get back to you in a year after I have been practicing some of these wonderful exercises.

I have been a member with Johnny now for 2 years believe it or not I can successfully now play the Blues and Jazz for a lousy few dollars you cannot go wrong traditional lessons it would have cost me around 15.000I didn't think that you can learn to play piano on the internet that's why Johnny is so successful I think it was a couple years ago Johnny was celebrating 100,000 subscribers he was so happy and grateful that he was giving out games and prices on top of the dirt cheap membership

Best music learning video ever! 🎶
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Great lessons.
thank you so much for your explaination master
The best teacher ever 🎶🙏
First, let me say THANK YOU for all the wonderful content you've posted. I've been subscribed and watching your videos for about a month now, and they've been both motivational and highly instructive. You are a great teacher and an excellent musician! Second, if I could (humbly) suggest a 6th Pillar, it would be Listening. I come primarily from a drumming background, but I think it's pretty universal across instruments and music styles that you cannot hope to pick up the nuances of a style (like jazz) and produce a great sound/feel in that style without a healthy dose of listening, especially focused listening. There's a lot more that could be said, but I'll leave it at that. Best wishes in 2024, and thanks again! You'll find me following the 1-year plan this year along with your other students! 😁
This is so generous of you 🙏 thank you, Jonny! I'm starting on my journey today 🎉❤
Amazing as always. The best piano teacher out there by far. Thank you Jonny for giving us such amazing videos for free

muy buena clase
Tanks my dear Jhonny. Wishing you the best 2024 full of succes.
Thank you for this, Jonny. I'm currently awash in KZread beginner jazz tutorials and was feeling quite lost in terms of setting a practice regimen. You're amazing :)
Love this video!! I have been serious in practising jazz for a year but felt no direction of where to go. Your video demonstrates a clear path of which level to start with and to look forward! I think I fall at the intermediate level for most of the pillars so now I can tailor made my own 1-year practice plan with concrete details. Thank you Johnny!!
This video is incredible. I’ve played classical music for a long time and have been interested in learning about jazz and this is a great help. Thank you. 😀
Wow, I have enjoyed this video. It's not just a plan it is a real jazz piano instruction with excellent examples. Thanks.
Your skills as a pianist and a teacher are amazing. You just sum up the fondamentals of piano jazz in one hour: incredibile
Years of my youth learning piano reading but not learning and enjoying the way you show all the levels. Thanks I will learn with you... soon... thanks
Well done man. This drills right down to it. Great material, super condensed, and fun practices. Like.
Many TNX Jonny! I know what i want, but don't know how. Hope you stand me on right way.
Biggest toolbox combined in one video. really great!
Thank you!! What a fantastic clear roadmap! My biggest problem in practicing has been to nail down a systematic framework - this tutorial is exactly what I need! I especially like how you provide a means of self assessment (BPM), and related roadmaps for 3 skill levels. Plus of course ample pointers to all of your wonderful more detailed courses for deep dives on any of these subjects. I'm feeling like this will definitely get my new year of to a great start. Thank you Jonny!!
Dude literally just broke down the framework I needed to get started. This is it. I'm excited for my progress this next year.
Muchas gracias por este contenido!!! Lo aplicaré para mejorar con la guitarra. Lo haré en 6 meses, reorganizándolo. De mejorar estaré bastante agradecido por esta ruta de aprendizaje.
Nice teaching Sir ❤

I recently started praticing on my own, its been 2months and I had no idea how to improve. This video helps me so much. I get to know what to practice. Thx so much for this video
This is an astonishingly good resource……..😊😊😊. Very tempted to buy the full course despite being impoverished!😮
Ty! Can you do a roadmap for gospel/funk?
Maybe, this is a hint not to ignore. New year is ahead, I just started playing piano. I will try to follow that plan for 2024.
As an advanced pianist, it's very nice to review this. I already did most of the beginner and intermediate stuff, and even if I diddn't, I could probably do it very fast. But some of the advanced stuff, I kinda tried before, but havn't practiced consistently. Especially the advanced chords bit. Yea, I really need to practice that. That is a great exercise, thank you
as a long time guitar player including jazz i recently bought a piano and am excited to follow your amazing plan. Some of the rootless voicings i learned from your autumn leaves video example is so beautiful.

Thanks for the reply john.. What's the scale for G ° mentioned in 10' 53 .. You only mentioned G Dominant Diminished My guess is the Half Whole Diminished
What a crazy video!!! Love the idea! (And your beard looks good btw)
Amazing!!!!!! Finally this is starting to make sense. I took class piano and jazz piano at university and could not keep up. I think that if I practice these pillars everyday I can finally train my ear to recognize diatonic chords in the key of C after the first month. Very cool!!! Bud, Herbie, Chick and Ramsey here I come!!!!!!!

Thank you Jonny for the fun & easy to understand video! Ive been a pianist for over 30 yrs & tried to pick up Jazz decades ago with books, the theory was so dry with aall the different modes & no application so I had no patience to continue. Thanks to youtube & your great lesson which made it fun & enjoyable!

You could maybe open your teaching relating jazz and classical music... it would be wonderfull. Again, Tantas gracias ... from Argentina

Way to go Jonny! Have spent decades learning random stuff that I've pieced together by ear to become a ....poor piano player. Have watched some insightful teachers on YT; but have never seen anyone put together a coherent strategy like this! I'm trying to go through the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels simultaneously; and will let you know after a year...
@DoartYT

Good luck man!
Very cool! I will use this approach as a rank beginner pianist… and do it as a minimalist routine. I’m guitar focused, but I want to see how 5 min per pillar per day on piano treats me after a year. And by 5 min per day I really mean that, as I have a habit of diving too deep and spending hours, and I know with guitar I will burn out both guitar and piano if I try to put in the same time commitment to both. But I think I can carve out 30 min per day on the piano for this!
Saludos 🇩🇴
Yes, yes YES!!!!!! ITS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!

@@PianoWithJonny you probably don't understand. Because your video is literally life changing to me. I'm so so grateful for your work. God bless you!
Piano with Jonny is great! I am relearning piano and have scales (major & minot) and basics down again fine. My 2024 Piano with Jonny goals are: 1. Get through all of Early Intermediate Piano Foundations - Level 4 2. Get through Blues Piano - Track 1 and Jazz Ballad Piano - Track 1 3. Be able to play 10 songs from memory by the end of 2024, some of which may come from #2 above, That may be too much, but a good goal. ---- Modes: IMHO best way to learn them is how the major scale is altered --- I think that other way of thinking about it is not useful at all.
