The Japanese Garden: Secrets of Natural Landscape Design

The Japanese Garden: Secrets of Natural Landscape Design
www.japansociety.org/event/the...
From prominent temple gardens in Kyoto to the tranquil stone oasis at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Shiro Nakane is keeping the art of the traditional Japanese garden alive. Favoring subdued assemblages of stones and greenery over lush florals, the Japanese garden is revered for its calm, meditative quality. Son of garden master Kinsaku Nakane, Shiro began studying the craft as a young boy and has been following in his father’s footsteps ever since. He comes to Japan Society to share his insights on Japanese garden design gained through a lifetime of work in the field. Moderated by Stephen Morrell, Director of the John P. Humes Japanese Stroll Garden.
This program was funded, in part, by a generous grant from The Omomuki Foundation. In the 2015-2016 Season, Talks+ Programs at Japan Society were generously sponsored by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG). Reception was supported in part by the Portland Japanese Garden. Wine provided by Torii Mor. Sake provided by JOTO sake. Additional support was provided by Chris A. Wachenheim, the Sandy Heck Lecture Fund, Dr. Yuichiro Kuwama and Hiroko Onoyama.

wish someone could edit this video to put in at least 2-3 second gaps between each photo he's clicking thru. he's clicking throught them way too quick to absorb anything. i wish i could find a similar clip on small karesansui gardens, explaining why each rock is being placed where it is and how each rock is interacting with all the others and also in relation to the perimeter and wider landscape.

Just wonderful, been searching for "pictures of landscape design" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Giyily Landscaping Yatty - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got great success with it.

John 3 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
