It has nothing to do with the result they are predicting, it's the comparisons to floyd v mcgregor, saying that you get hit harder in boxing than ufc even though ufc uses 4 ounce gloves and Robbie lawler hits 10x harder than jake could dream of.

@@fred8589 boxing is totally different than the UFC. In boxing, you have to stand up no matter what. In MMA, you can hold and grab onto the other person after you get hit to minimize his chances of hitting you and you can take them down to the ground. Ben will have to stand up the entire fight and take those hits over and over again.

The boxing world will give him credit when he fights a BOXER!

McGregor himself was chasing a fight with Pacquiao so that's why he only had a small response before his fight with Poirier.

Ben Askren is a retired mma fighter, who is smaller than Jake, who always had awful standup skills, and is recently coming off of hip surgery. There is a reason that the Jake Paul team chose Ben Askren, and a reason that Ben took the fight (money). Respect to Jake, but after this, I want to see him go up against someone who has some level of boxing skill.

Only way Askren can win is if it goes to distance. We’ve never seen Jake go to distance with the improvements to his game that he has now. I think Askren will take a lot of heavy shots the first rounds but unless he’s finished I don’t know how Jake will do. Askrens experience is being underrated a tad bit I feel.

It should have been over after he said the whole sport is rigged and that it's all about wining and dining and that everyone makes under the table deals.

When Jake fights an actual boxer, I’ll pay attention. Until then, it’s a sideshow. I hope people that pay and tune in and enjoy it though, just not for me haha

@@jdaddy3658 I like boxing, I pay attention to boxing news. I like football and support Newcastle, so I watch some of the video’s TG puts up. I really don’t have an opinion on Jake one way or another. He seems a dick in public, but that’s not new in boxing and a common way to sell fights. He could be the nicest guy in the world behind the scenes. From what I have seen, Jake looks the best boxer out of the youtubers. He’s talked about focusing on it and doing it properly, Vidal says he has proper camps, trainers, and sparring partners, etc. I just think if he is serious about it, build your record up like a boxer would. Not just these celebrity show fights (which I didn’t care for when Floyd did his 2 either). Probably didn’t need to write all of this, but just wanted to explain my stance.

This was a really good debate, the power thing is interesting though. The guys said the guys he's dropping are not top level guys, how many times have we seen a fighter step up a level only to find at that higher level the power isn't as formidable as it was the level below. Obviously Askren isn't an expert boxer but he is tough af. I know it's a bit different as both were boxers but Carl Thompson beat David Haye because Haye unloaded and couldn't knock him out, Haye was exhausted and then got TKO'd. It's going to be interesting though as Paul is athletic and is picking things up well and 3 years is a long time to be training purely boxing over Askren who's most likely to have been focusing on his main weapon in mma which is grappling.
