The entire Jackson family is the most famous family in history no other musical family has ever had the kinds of career this family has because Michael is the greatest entertainer that’s ever lived with a legacy so big it would take forever to write and he’s influenced the entire industry and Janet is one of the greatest entertainers ever and has also influenced the entire industry and paved the way for women in the industry and just like Michaels her career is so massive it would take forever to write it all she without a doubt has the second biggest impact ever after Michael and the Jackson 5/the Jacksons are the 3d biggest selling group ever and without a doubt the most influential group ever they have influenced so many bands and solo artists there influence is literally everywhere and Jermaine Jacksons song when the rain begins to fall has been sampled and coved by countless artists if it wasn’t for the Jackson family especially Michael Janet and the Jacksons none of these artists of today would be what they are today

@@wadereynoldsdeadpool5768 The thing is Michael felt used and pressured within the family. He was among the youngest of the bunch, yet the family relied a lot on him. He would do "family" tours and albums mainly to please/help them("Triumph", "Victory"). That was not easy to handle, hence his desire of emancipation. I agree with you when you said that he needed to be with a wife who would have given him real support and stability, but Michael has had emotional scars since his teen years, he was very sensitive and was looking for the approval of his father...

I appreciate the comment about the other Jacksons. I like Michael as a performer but the hero-worship of someone who was a flawed man makes little sense to me. But I have a God and Lord, so perhaps I can understand people's need to elevate others, even flawed men like Michael Jackson. It's not like I haven't heard people talk bad about Christ. And some say he did not exist, but that's a lie. Many non-religious records of him exist and have existed, but the revisionists are hard at work destroying history. Though at least my Lord died for something and not due to a medical mistake/ though perhaps it was murder. The worshippers need it to be murder otherwise he died like a mere man and not a martyr. Michael believed in Jesus as far as I know (as a youth and later in life) so please honor him and seek to understand Christianity from its own perspective and not the perspective of men and the world. Do the work yourself and see what it says and is like. It's not what the World and haters say. Any way, I hope this finds you in a good place and be blessed and peace.

(Verse 1 - Jermaine) It was on a street so evil So bad that even hell disowned it Every single step was trouble For the fool who stumbled on it Eyes within the dark were watching I felt the sudden chill of danger Something told me "Keep on walking" Told me I should not have come there (Chorus 1) Baby, 'cause you cut me like a knife Without your love in my life Alone I walk in the night 'Cause I just can't stop this feeling It's torture It's torture It's torture (Verse 2 - Michael) She was up a stair to nowhere A room forever I'll remember She stared as though I should have known her Tell me, what's your pain or pleasure? Every little thing you find here Is simply for the thrill you're after Loneliness or hearts of fire I am here to serve all masters (Chorus 2) She said reality is a knife When there's no love in your life And merciful is the night When you just can't stop this feeling It's torture It's torture It's torture (Bridge) Jermaine: And I still can't find the meaning (Michael: No, no) Michael: Of the face I keep seeing Jermaine: Was she real or was I dreaming? Together: Did the sound of your name turn a wheel, start a flame in me? (Chorus 1: Repeat) (Chorus 2: Repeat) (Outro - Jackie, with the other Jacksons) When you call my name (It's torture) It's heading 'round the flame (It's torture) When you call my name (It's torture) Hey (It's torture, it's torture, it's torture) When you call my name It's torture Yeah, we would have planned It's torture We gonna need... I like how the Jacksons had been writing about bad breakups / heartache in the vein of a thriller or horror film since The Jackson 5's "The Boogeyman". Its how you feel when you are going through something like that. Slowly other haunting tracks came like "Torture", "Your Ways" "Heartbreak Hotel", "Dangerous", "The Hurt", "Thriller", "Threatened", "Is It Scary?" "Blood On The Dancefloor". Very unique writing and skill. It worked literally every single time too.

Michael Jackson was definitely a star but all his brothers were super talented as well and that should be respected ,this song was partly written by Jackie, it's obvious he is a strong lyricist. Jermaine and Tito are guitarists singing while playing an instrument ,that is not easy at all . Randy plays more than one instrument and Marlon can sing and dance . Listen to Jermaine sing his part ,this man was a super talent in terms of vocals. I don't think none of these men deserve being compared to each other, they were/are extraordinary talents.

Love the Jacksons, love love love. When you center a group around one voice, people get programmed to that sound. The brothers made the Jacksons just as much as Michael did. Yet, we are use to him singing lead, so we look for it! But dont forget the Brothers!❤

I remember liking this song as a kid, only to have life serve me a situation like what this song is about. Funny how songs sound different when you have meaningful experience to hear it with. No song has come close to capturing the feeling of love lost and dealing with that fall out. It’s torture and you can’t stop it. The lengths we go to just to make it stop. Walking alone in the night. Finding yourself is a strangers bed. Reality is a knife when there is no love in your life. This song is in a class by itself. It still kicks up feelings when I hear it to this day. Music truly has magic.

I was about 3 years old when this album was released. I loved the stories my uncles would tell me about MJ and the Jacksons. They weren't really stories, just the way they described things to me as a young kid; everything they talked about always sounded amazing. It was the early 90s when I found the tape at a Goodwill thrift store. I was so excited to get home and tell them about it, lol
