    He's right about people becoming radicalised because of lack of peaceful economic opportunities, and how that's happening in the West, too. There's an old African proverb: ""The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth".

    As a Muslim, I want to request everyone on this platform to try to tell others around you that we need to respect human life and reject any ideology that supports the killing of innocent civilians. In this era of fake news, we need to be more careful because it is becoming increasingly dangerous everyday... with rising polarisation around us, we need to reject hate and help people around us... 😢

    Yes! Well said. I was raised Jewish (though I don't practice Judaism specifically anymore) and I have had many Muslim friends throughout my life! I don't trust the news anymore. In fact I have a hard time trusting anything I read online right now. If we let Hamas undo all the progress the people of Israel and surrounding countries, then they win! Their efforts are to divide this world. Regardless of your faith, to stand in favor of unity is to stand on the side of humanity.

    Who's going to tell Israel to stop murdering people?

  • @marcusonesimus3400

    @marcusonesimus3400

    7 ай бұрын

    I agree 100 percent that human life is to be respected. Otherwise why the commandment given through Moses, 'Do not murder'? Yet even the Law of Moses, of which you must have heard, and with which I am acquainted as a Christian, permits killing under certain circumstances--------as punishment for certain crimes, and in war. It may sound scandalous to some ears, but during the conquest of Canaan, The Lord commissioned the Israelites to put to death whole populations of reprobate unbelievers. However as the revelation of God progresses, we find a different emphasis. Jonah the prophet is commissioned to preach to the people of Nineveh, capital of Assyria and an evil city. To Jonah's surprise, the people repent. In the New Testament, the disciples of Jesus are called to suffer persecution, not to persecute others, as they preach the Gospel tp the nations/ By His own suffering on the Cross (yes, it happened, as even secular historians know) Jesus set the supreme example. Yet we must not expect people of the world, who live by their wits and their calculations and their faulty traditions, to behave with justice or mercy in most cases. Jesus predicted that in the latter times (which may mean NOW), the love of many would grow cold. The carefully planned crimes of Hamas exemplify this. Under the circumstances the harsh israeli response is not unexpected, and many think that this is exactly what Hamas wanted. Why? It gives them an ideal opportunity to inflame Arab-Palestinaisn and their allies around the world against Israel. The sad fact about modern war is that for all the hype we hear about pr'surgical strikes' and guided weapons systems, no munitions are safe for civilians. Nor are all civilians 'innocent'. Plenty of warmongering parties get into power by electoral means, using democratic institutions. (1st john 1:8) 'If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.'

To be fair: I don't think anyone in their right mind would watch videos of starving children and think that Israel is acting fairly. I def think they overreact and that what is happening to Palestinians in Gaza is abhorrent. But people also have to read facts from multiple viewpoints.

    Yes, no mention of the terrorists being taught from a child to kill Jews . The Muslim mosques by Bush/ Obama/Biden/ clintons. All the US secrets being sold to Egypt and other neighboring nations by our own government. Senator menendez indicted for it . Biden being exposed . Muslims that had a plot to infiltrate America and convert them. Some have gotten saved and exposed the plot on national radio. They chant death to Israel and death to America. Humas spent their money on terrorism instead of living quarters, sanitation, etc. and they are like animals to kill let alone behead babies. And chant in the streets death to Israel is a threat. Jews here feel unsafe. And Israel has the right to defend and eliminate threats. They bring it here to try to shift America. Palestinians need to go back and vote in a better leader. Finally he mentioned the religious part bc that’s what it’s really about. Jews and Muslims worship freely together and respect each other. Palestinians don’t want that . Egypt won’t let them in bc they don’t want humas fleeing into Egypt posing as a citizen. They should be ordered to stop the protests and antiseptics but they won’t . They are geared for hatred and terrorism. Jewish students are scared stiff. One was beaten by several Palestinians in New York. No body reported it in the news but Fox News. CNN reports it as poor Palestinians. It’s wrong. They chose their leadership like some in the US. But we have high courts to stop some of it and congress the only branch to declare war. It’s all about Palestinians trying to annihilate God and force Muhammad.

    Its a good interview in parts but the history needs to be looked into. The meddling of the UK and France in the area and taking land and just planting people there. What happened in isreal was horrible, was terrorism and was completely not the way to make effect. But the lack in the news highlighting the Isreali "operations" that are carried out on Palestinians on a near daily basis where they kill tens of people over and over. There is bad on both sides. Nationalism of this kind on both sides leads to destruction on both sides. And it saddens alot of people and this will polarise many families and friend groups. But the toll it will take on the people on both sides of this conflict will be deep and ever lasting and will breed more contempt in future generations.

Such a diverse, educated, curious culture and people, that meshed so well for so long with the German culture and was a major contribution to its intellectual achievements. When I came to America as an immigrant, I met more Jewish people than ever before, and always felt immediately at home. This enrichment of our German society was destroyed and taken from us by a pathological madman.

Face it: you are just as much a victim of his human depopulation agenda as those 6 million. And what did those Jewish SURVIVORS do when they created Israel? Inflict the same damage to the Palestinians on what one could consider as ETHNIC CLEANSING. From victim to perpetrator. The Jews wailed about the Holocaust. But have they LEARNED anything? This guy is incredible. Such objective, balanced coverage. A more scientific and level-headed approach to analyzing this entire conflict ... much appreciated. As an important side note --his comparison of a telephone company to social media sites was so eye opening and an distinction to make with regard to responsibility for the increased hate speech and polarized arguments. He mentioned how a phone company isn't responsible for a single conversation between individuals discussing violence or plans for violence, however the phone company is absolutely responsible if they start going in and listening to those conversations and actively connecting other individuals with violent beliefs and tendencies so they can all group together (aka social media algorithms)--then they should be held liable and appropriately regulated. ...And that is the difference between what some think is free speech infringement, and what is ethically necessary for the sake of sanity and peace... in reality it's a conversation of controlling algorithmic-based pot-stirring as a means to prevent the spread of more international unrest. Adding fuel to a fire that otherwise may burn out on its own, social platforms seem to be roping otherwise well-intentioned folks towards extremism. Maybe because these companies have mastered the art of corralling the most extremist and mentally unstable individuals together to hype one another up in validation, allowing them to post emotionally triggering (and often false/exaggerated) content, which in turn may influence the previously average, non-extremist Joe towards more radical ideas. ... hence further increased global unrest.

    I don't think Ian Bremmer's analysis is anywhere close to being accurate. The idea that the two state solution is no longer viable has nothing to do with the normalization between some Arab states and Israel. Ian seems to suggest that there can only be a Palestinian state if the Arab states care for it or demand it and that is total non sense. The real reason the two state solution is no longer viable is because contrary to international law Israel continues to build and expand settlements that are connected by complex roads, railways, gas/electrical lines, tunnels and more. In order words there's no more land left on the west bank for the Palestinians to create a state. UN resolution 242 passed over 50 years ago requires Israel to withdraw back to the 1967 borders so that Palestine can exist within those borders. Israel hasn't complied. UN resolution 194 passed in 1948 grants the right of return to Palestinians refugees. Many of those refugees today live in Gaza, the west bank, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Their homes are in what is Israel today. Israel hasn't complied. The most disturbing thing that Ian mentions however, is that the suffering of the Palestinians is the natural consequence of their actions. This is non sense. The on going occupation of the west bank, the on going expansion of settlements, the ongoing attacks of settlers (backed by the IDF) on Palestinians villagers and farmers, the constant raids of Israel into the west bank, the imprisonment of nearly 6 Palestinians (many without charge) is what is driving Palestinians to madness. There's a lot to say here but for those who are here because they want to get an understanding of the conflict, this interview with Ian Bremmer is unfortunately, not a good source.

Gaza is what a Palestinian state looks like and in stead of peace it meant more war, one every year or so. We just had a war in May of 2023 and the Israeli public demanded that the IDF retake Gaza. What do you think the Israeli electorate is going to say now? Lets go back to October 6th? No way!

The whole analysis is very biased and incorrect. We are not Americans, and our point of view is not colonial as urs. We understand, that different people may vary in their point of view, and that is also true for our neighbours who hate Jews. The democratic, or republican rhetorics (he is cleary democratic) is not part of our culture. Cooler heads must prevail to stop the cycle of hurt people hurting people. We should fight for peace but the idea of peace is differs between different groups so compromise is the best way there thru empathy and open communication. History teaches us how miniscule events can lead to all out chaos but also teaches us that peace between long time enemies is also possible. Do not fall for the hopeless idea that peace is not possible.

    It’s true, but like any human being, if your basic needs are not being met, eventually you do something about it and the worse the situation, the more radical the response. It’s almost like hamas was like, “oh, everyone is ignoring us? We’ll make you pay attention even if it means destroying ourselves.” And the world is certainty paying attention now. It’s such a devastating situation and so heartbreaking for the people just trying to live their lives there.

    The idea that these two groups will learn to peacefully coexist seems like it has been shattered. Two groups within the same borders both claiming to be the rightful owners of the territory will lead to instability if one or both don’t change their attitude. The unrest for the last 70 years has been the result of hope that would happen. I think it’s time to accept that only continued suffering can result from the experiment continuing. Time to accept that the results will be “unfair” for one of the parties and, like is always the case in statecraft, the weaker party will be the loser here. These would-be-Palestinians need to be relocated out of Gaza and out of the West Bank so that there can be unambiguous borders between nation states to fight over. Yes, it will be an ugly and messy business to make this happen but it at least will provide an opportunity to end the conflict and suffering and is the only realistic way to do so.
