Really enjoyed the prolonged discussion of 2 vs 3 players. We're a family of three and are always trying to glean the real pros/cons of games with respect to three players in particular.

Hi guys! I love this game and preordered it immediately after my first play. My only (minor) complaint is the art on the 5-fish tokens, i.e. the two shadow fish that make it look like a 3-fish token.

The fish with three visible and two shadow fish is worth 5 fish. The individual fish are worth 1 fish

I discovered your channel recently and I'm loving it! It's exactly what I want in a review: they teach me what I need to know about the game at the same time that they are friendly and entertaining to watch. I backed this in KS after your review. I am excited about your Uwe Rosenberg series now! :-)

I love Bunny Kingdome's two player draft because not only do you get to see a guarantee new card you also get rid of one ever time you pick cards.

I know this was done earlier in the year but I played the family version a bunch with my kids but want to teach the wife the real version so this video was very well done!

Your hair is sooooo beautiful. Also, I like your guys chemistry when you play, super chill and fun.

I bought this game, I think it's a well designed game, quality components, the theme and the artwork are fun and quirky, rules were clearly written and concise. I just didn't find it to be that fun. Maybe because we only played it two player (me and the missus). After watching your review, I think I need to try and play it with more than 2 people.

Doesn’t change anything, but I do believe that the token of a bunch of fish represents 5 fish and not 3. There are 2 darker fish drawn behind the 3 fish.

How do you think you would rank this one in comparison to New York Zoo? I've been on the fence regarding a polyomino game for a while and was trying to narrow it down between these two....

A lot of people prefer this one but I (Monique) prefer NY Zoo between the 2 games.

@@BeforeYouPlay thanks, I went back and forth trying to decide what to order. I ended up ordering Isle of Cats before I saw your post! Hopefully I can add NYZ in sometime as well.

I hate cats, but love this game. I have played the family version to get use to it 3 times. Ready to play the full version.

Great play through! Fyi: last round of the game, had the man bought the last 3 fish cat, the lady would not have bought a 5 cat, leaving the man able to get all of his cats and the lady may have not covered all her rats plus lose some red points! The man may have lost points on the fish lesson card and still might have lost, but it would have been tighter I think.

One thing I’m trying to get clarification on that didn’t come up in this play through: multiple time when playing I’d run out of fish before running out of baskets. The rules specifically state that regular baskets get discarded after being used. I took this to imply that unused baskets could be kept for the next day which would also keep that speed value in play. Don’t know if this is right or not since the rules don’t say what happens to rescue cards if you don’t use their baskets, only that they’re discarded if you use them.

I believe they still get discarded as the cards also help you move up on the player track.

Also not sure if you’ve already discovered this but the pile of fish that look like a bundle of three fish is actually a bundle of 5. In this play through they counted the bundle of 5 as 3. I did the same thing for a long time haha. If you look closely you can see the other two fish in the background. This might help “save” fish for later use. You’ll have to keep a fish “bank” to exchange fish amounts.

It does say in the rules in the rescue cats section: Empty fields Once both the fields are empty (or when all players have passed), the rescue cat phase isover. Any rescue cards that have been played, but have not been used, are immediately moved to the discard pile.

What do each of you prefer between Isle of Cats and New York Zoo?

Hi there, we borrowed a friends copy for the filming of this one, so we unfortunately have only played it once more after we filmed the video. We never did try the expansion that came out later on either.

Turtles wouldn't work though... They would only create square shapes :D definitely not those kitty katty zig zags :D

It took me a while to figure out why you were getting change on a 5 fish purchase. It dawned on me that you thought the large tokens were worth 3 fish each. The token design was a poor choice for this game.

Barenpark but I love this one now too

The bigger fish token is worth 5 not 3.

I thought they comes with 5 fish and 1 fish tokens

Hmm, honestly can't remember what the denominations were. We may have missed it. The good thing is that it doesn't affect the game as long as everyone is incorrect together :)

The 5 fish has 2 fish in the background (shadow), that's why it's hard to tell.
