Hopefully people see this and it sinks in that $3500-4000 is an ENTRY level pricetag for turbocharging these cars. Nicely done video!

$3500 to 4000 entry is overstated....more like $4500 to $5000. Most get hosed with the aftermarket ECU when they want to turn it up.

this is a cool video man with a lot of good information packed into a short time. i am trying to get a lexus sportcross atm, and would love to only spend about $3500 on the turbo parts and management, I understand it will take some patience. i have to save some money left over though for the manual swap down the road.
@Knownworldwide

Yeah manual swaps are insanely over these days! I will say that 3500-4000 is the ABSOLUTE bottom line to boost these cars so expect to be closer to $5k as prices tend to rise slowly. Good luck and thanks for watching the video! Hope you decide to stick around for the long run!

Hey thanks for taking your time to watch the videos bro! I am wanting to manual swap this car too but everyone wants a million dollars for these hella old gearboxes! Yeah boosting these cars (or any car for that matter) is quite a bit of work and money. I am definitely at the very bottom end of how much to spend. Realistically I would budget at least $5k-$6K

@@Knownworldwide Yeah man I would transmissions are a little hard to source right now luckily in texas they're avaliable time to time, I would consider going R154 brand new from drift motion for your current setup if you you do follow through with it, I know the A650E holds up pretty well low boost, getting a brand new R154 for around 3.1-3.2k is honestly a crazy deal, if you're on a tight budget I would try sourcing a W58 Mk3 SUpra those can handle around 300-350 whp safely.

Would a borg warner s366 work with this manifold? Btw great content bro!
@Knownworldwide
6 ай бұрын
Hey! Thanks for watching the video! Hope you decide to stick around for the long run. The Borg comes in many different flavors. You would need to make sure you have a 3” v band exhaust housing and a compressor housing with a 2.5” outlet. I haven’t personally test fit one but if I recall, those Borgs tend to have thick compressor housings so you may need to trim a couple of the turbo manifold studs (studs in the cylinder head) to clear the compressor housing.
What spring are running in the wastegate I got the same one lol.
@Knownworldwide
Жыл бұрын
I’m running the 5.5psi spring I think it is the bigger red one. Could be 5.1psi. I have a stock exhaust though so it opens well before even hitting 5psi. If I get into the top of 3rd it will hit about 4.5psi. If you have an aftermarket exhaust it should maintain 5psi pretty well.
Is the catch can configuration basically the evap system you've configured? Did you rip out the OEM catch can under the intake?
@Knownworldwide

Not sure I follow what you’re talking about. The EVAP system is definitely completely different than a PCV system. My EVAP system is still intact.
