The Invisible

Zentatsu Richard Baker Roshi explores emptiness, stages of zazen practice, the invisible and stillness in yogic culture. He begins by addressing the misconception of emptiness as "nothingness" and invites practitioners to perceive emptiness as a space of potentiality: You are born into experience and not into a pre-existing world. He uses the examples of linguistic wiring and the mind's influence on bodily functions. He encourages exploring the intertwining of these concepts and how the cultivation of stillness and the recognition of the invisible are an essential part of zazen practice and the experience of emptiness.

One cannot cultivate stillness. It just has to come.

Why do you folks feel the need to complicate this stuff? Does it provide you with something to do? You're either in your thoughts or you're not. There's nothing more to it.
