I awakened this morning with Shabbat before me! Anticipating Holy Rest, I listened to Abbey of the Arts-Monks in the world --and the subject of Sabbath! I thought of you Marabi - and here you are sharing! Much love and Restful Sabbat! Diane 🥰

Beautiful and so meaningful, Mirabai! Coincidentally, I just happened to read the following today in Joan Chittister’s reflection on Julian of Norwich: [Julian’s] ‘simple life leaves a profoundly simple message. A story is told of a traveler who found a small bird lying upside down on its back. “Bird,” the traveler said, “why are you lying upside down like that?” “I heard the heavens are going to fall today,” the bird replied. “I suppose,” the traveler laughed, “you think your spindly little legs are going to hold it up.” And the little sparrow said quietly, “Well, Sir, one does what one can.” Julian of Norwich did for her time what she could and what it needed. She gave it insight and trust and hope. We would do well to do the same.’ (- from A Passion for Life: Fragments of the Face of God) I never heard that before, but it will be a go-to for me from now on.
