I love how at 13:24 their cat's ass is right in Chelsea's face and her gaze never leaves the script. That's true focus.
watching this in 2020 the part where they said the invisible man would have to get super strength or else he wouldn't be scary just shows how interesting the remake was. The invisible man in the remake was scary before he was invisible, and the invisibility plays into the main character's fear that her abuser is everywhere or could be anywhere, with her friends thinking it's paranoia.
"He's a little gray." "Oh, he's very gray." I was really hoping this would be a joke about the black and white film.
That intro always gets me so excited

Angel Sánchez porqué es como escuchar la canción principal de tu programa favorito. Trae buenos sentimientos.
I could be incorrect in saying this but I’ve always felt that the reason that horror movies in the 70’s were so wild is because that was right after the Hays code was lifted (1968? I think?) so suddenly they could do so much more and wanted to push those limits. My dad worked in a vaudeville dinner theater for many years and one season they did a tap number about the production code.
I remember you guys from Drunk Disney holy shit
Fun fact: Claud Rains also played Phantom of the Opera in another version that came after Lon Chaney’s Original Film

Syntax xRed It’s not about mount of work, it’s just the style. James makes short, easy to consume entertainment videos that anybody can jump into and enjoy. Only people who care about movies or really love James and Chelsea would sit down for an hour or more to watch a podcast. Chelsea would know this, I doubt she’s disappointed about these not getting millions of views, just give her some love!

When Chelsea said “canning?” To James’ question, I said it out loud as well and I don’t think I meant to, but I was glad she laughed afterwards so I didn’t feel insane.

fun fact: I had to read Invisible Man for my summer reading in high school and I accidentally bought a copy of the invisible man and was very confused when like 2 chapters in and still none of the characters listed in my homework packet thing had come up yet. So, that was fun. Make sure to check that the authors match kids.
Hollowman killcount or podcast. It is like a remake of invisibleman and I feel like it actually adds some sort of dread to the character
I'm 14 and I love all the old monster movies like this
Omg you guys should do all the classic monsters! Those movies have a surprising amount of deaths for the kill count

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Invisible Man is one of my favorite, not just horror movies, but movies of all time. Glad you got to review it!!!!
"they're old, they're done, we don't have to worry about it" or so they THOUGHT
Oh man, the Invisible Man! this brings back memories. One summer, I took a homeschooled movie analysis class, where you had a list of movies from 10 genres, and you had to choose 3 movies per time period (so one "early" movie, one 70s-90s movie, and one recent movie). I wanted to watch the Invisible Man for "Early Horror" because I knew the book it was based on was by H G Wells, one of my favorite authors. My problem was, I couldn't find the movie anywhere, so I was worried I'd have to choose a different movie. But one day, while my family was on vacation in a hotel (and I still was doing my assignments because I had 30 movies to watch), they were flipping through the channels and found The Invisible Man playing on an obscure channel! I was so happy I would get to watch it! And I remember, from my course, that was one of my favorite movies that I did not expect to like as much as I did (because I wasn't a horror fan at the time) And now, I am so happy I got to hear you guys talk about this movie! Love the podcast and the Kill count vids! Thank you for covering this!
I know this an old episode, but the process of canning is sometimes called appertization.
Oh man, these old Universal Monsters are my favorites. Genuinely monster flicks don't get better from here. James Whale was a particularly ingenius director and visionary. Oh I'm so happy you did this film on the podcast!
Claude Rains maniacal laugh was almost Joker worthy.

Too bad he never played Joker. He'd be better than Joaquin Phoenix the Rodeo Clown.
Can't wait for the LGBT episode! The Hayes code is so interesting, so a podcast on that would be amazing, especially with you two! The podcast is my favorite part of the channel, and that's saying a lot!
I really love the pattern of movie review and other type of discussion that has been going on!
This is more like a guilty pleasure for horror fans some of these movies are just... undescribable, in a good way. Fantastic work guys. Always a pleasure🙂
Glad to see you guys giving some love to the Universal monsters- this movie looks like a blast! Great podcast as usual!
Son of Frankenstein is another good universal horror: one of the last quality ones and last one to have Boris Karloff playing the monster, and also has the great Bela Lugosi as well as Basil Rathbone. My fav Frankenstein movie. (Invisible Man is my fav Universal Horror Movie)
Just watched this film for the first time so of course I had to come back to the Podcast ep!
Great show! So excited to see you cover one of the classic Universal horror films. Can’t wait for a possible Bride of Frankenstein episode, by far my favorite classic monster film and one of my favorite films in general.
Hallow Man with Kevin Bacon. I'm surprised neither of you mentioned it when you two were talking about a remake.
I have this movie and I love it! Glad you guys did an episode on that and happy to learn so much from it :)
you have no idea how excited i am that you guys did an old universal monster movie!!!!! LOVE THOSE MOVIES
My mother actually showed me all these universal monster movies as a kid and all the bud abbot and Lou Costello movies. Will never forget Igor standing at the bottom of the stairs in Dracula just laughing. Horror back then was just amazing and I am super excited to see what you guys are going to do with universal movies.
I literally just came home from finishing H.G. Wells version of the book and saw the video, Awesome!
great podcast guys
Invisible man is so underrated. New viewer who loves the content keep it coming!
Awesome video! I just got back from HHN Orlando and loved it! Poltergeist house was EASILY my favorite... will you post a walkthrough video of your experience?
Yesssssssss, I want a Hays Code episode!
I love this movie alot love Claude rains performance as the invisible man
U guys should do classic horror often
I have seen 11 universal horror films so to see you guys cover one is great
Love this movie and your channel

I'm pretty sure the bike was on a track, you can see 2 thin lines in the dirt that the bikes stays in between as it rides down the "street"
I actually looked up a list of horror movie villains with the highest kill count on Google and I found a list on screenrant.com that includes the following: 10) Norman Bates - 20 9) Leatherface - 31 8) Pinhead - 35 7) Chucky - 38 6) Freddy Krueger - 39 5) Jigsaw - 60 4) Hannibal Lecter - 98 3) The Invisible Man - 123 2) Michael Myers - 133 1) Jason Voorhees - 151
I always wanted Dead Meat to talk about this movie some time
All the classic Universal monster movies are awesome. I loved them all.
Every october i watch one universal monster movie every night, my favorites are creature from the black lagoon and the invisible man. I have the legacy collection box set
I haven't seen The Invisible Man but I have seen Dracula and Frankenstein. If really recommend Dracula as the guy who plays Renfield is awesome!
You should check out the movie upgrade and possibly do a kill count on it because it has some very amazing and brutal kills you’ll enjoy
Catching up on the podcast, so super late to this but - the runaway bike effect was achieved with very thin wires. I'm sure you guys found this out later, just thought I'd add it! Keep up the good work!
It’s interesting watching this after watching the new invisible man podcast recently. It’s cool to compare what their opinions were then compared to now.😂👍

Yeah, that's what I noticed. Chelsea thought they'd turn the end into a big action sequence, while the remake/reboot does it in a much more simple and very effective. And James didn't this version was scary, but the new version is terrifying because it really is invisible. The restaurant scene really highlights that. But it's cool because it shows how some directors/writers can take something old and really transform it into something that surprises those that saw the original.
Not enough mentions of Kevin Bacon's Hollow Man. Still my favourite depiction of the invisible man, and I have read the Orson Welles novel.
