This song resonates with me big time. I recently moved away from a small town where I had lived for years. It never really felt like home to me, quite on the contrary: the prevailing spirit of depressing mediocrity and shallow conformism was stunting my growth and ruining my psyche; however, I'd always lacked the guts to move out and try my luck somewhere else. A few months ago I finally gathered up the courage to step out of the proverbial comfort zone and tried to settle in a big city. At first, I experienced a sense of freedom that was completely new to me. I met some incredibly cool people along the way. It seemed I was really going to make it. Unfortunately, things didn't work out the way I hoped they would and I soon found myself moving back. I don't mean to indulge in self-pity, but I swear I feel like the most ridiculous waste of space that ever lived. I feel frustrated and defeated. I feel guilty because I know wasn't strong enough. Sorry for the lengthy comment. I've been wanting to get this out of my chest, and the minute I heard the lyrics to this song I couldn't restrain myself anymore. Thankfully, ska punk never fails to cheer me up.

Same here. I was supposed to fly out and see Flogging Molly for St. Pat's 2020 in Los Angeles, but that was the week Covid shut everything down. Now they'll be here, and with The Interrupters. It doesn't get much better.
