There is so much you can do with the Internet and I think we should continue doing so, especially when sharing experiences. But, there are moments that you could go an do things without the Internet. For instance: my dream is to live on an island, make a daily walk to a row of dunes and sit there for a couple of hours. Just sit, look around and listen to the wind, sea and the animals around me. I could to that online, but that is not the real thing. You can watch a video and hear sounds, even in surround if you want to, but the feel is completely different. I have a tiny library built up of books about islands. When I go offline I dive in to those books, or I invite my best friend (my Jack Russel called Stitch) to make a walk with me on the island nearby. That former island has been surrounded by land now (It is called Schokland) so it is convenient we can drive there. There are no dunes, but there are two towers at the mouth of the former harbour. I have climbed those for many times just to be there, stand on top, enjoying the air, the surroundings, the wind, the birds. While Stitch loves to stay below to sniff around. What I am saying: we all should do this more. Go out with friends, or dogs. Sit together, talk, drink, walk, hike, climb, swim. Do it together, or sometimes do it alone when needed. It will completely recharge your mind. Sharing this by video with you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nHuAmpuklJi5j7Q.html Curious if you can spot the @MotionVFX effect I used in this video.

It's amazing how we sometimes have to snap ourselves out of the trance the Internet (and "content creation" specifically) can cast upon us to realize, "Oh, real life is pretty great." Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Gert. -M
