For me it seems like we misinterpret what social media should have become. The idea of being able to connect so easily with people all around the world is just incredible, you can share literally anything within seconds but yet for most people it just has negative effects which is really sad.

It’s also crazy that there are people on the internet that you have never met nor spoken to that you’ve had an impact on! I’m definitely more of a ‘lurker’ and hardly ever comment but figured I’d comment that you truly are a source of inspiration for some of us.

Well said. I've found recently that being a producer, not just a consumer, on the Internet is one of the best ways to find community and connection, and unlock the promise of these social platforms. We're all subject to the downsides as consumers -- might as well reap the upsides as a creator!

Goodness Jake.. you put into words and video what so many others may feel is impossible. Cannot tell you how rewarding it is for us as creators to see you going in this direction and taking on this new chapter. It's inspiring to watch, as well as a way to sort of put "gas in our tank" and realize that one day, we may be able to connect with those that have reached us in such a profound way. Dang.. aren't you glad that the internet sucks ;)

We all have or are using the internet in a way we shouldn't. It's easy to fall into the trap. But stories/videos like this help to make the right decision. At least it is helping me. Always loved your Solo B-Roll anyway. But this last shot of the van in that big hall… absolutely awesome! Love the idea of using the internet to connect. That’s what I always thought of when I started social media. Unfortunately, when you’re not that big of a channel or profile, people don’t seem to be interested in connecting with you. That’s because the idea of social media changed in so many heads around the globe. People don’t use it as a tool to simply connect. People use it to create their fortune and fame. And unless you bring anything to the table for them, the interest in connecting is so small. Anyway… love your video, love your van, keep doin it!
