Neat setup I've got 2 inverters a Solis for the Incoming Solar and a Solax inverter and a Solax Battery for my Battery storage(still waiting for my 2nd Battery) your setup is far neater 👌

I've just a salesman round and he says, the battery must go indoors and not outside. This is strange as the Puredrive web site shows there battery mounted outside the front of a cottage ? Nice clear instructions, good tidy job

How does the consumer unit and meter tails connect into the inverter?

Hi I have a Solis S6 invertor at the moment. Looking to add batteries but I understand I'll need an additional inverter. Is it easy to just swap the S6? Looks plug and play

I have just installed solar on the front and back of my East & West facing roof with two 5K Solis inverters, one for each side. Now I'm looking for batteries such as the Puredrive Battery, however, I would like to ask how I could charge one Battery/Bank utilising both inverters ? Any advice or suggestions would be helpful and thank you for an informative video.

Interesting video and very informative. We had solar panels installed in 2019 with a Solis inverter and then recently had PureDrive batteries installed, 10kWh. The issue we have is the inaccurate figures provided by the mobile app we have. The combination of inputs from solar and battery do not correspond to the demand from the house. The app construction is also poor, screen doesn't stretch, colours not very visible against background. There is no desktop alternative and no means to download data as CSV. I do know there is a Victron inverter in the battery box and am sure we could get better results by using the Victron inverter access directly. We do have desktop access to our solar panels data via the Solis Inverter. Do you have any experience with the Purdrive app and or Victron inverter access?

Hi. Just instal my set month ago . 2x 5kw batteries +solis 3.6kw. 10 panels on my roof 4kwp. I would like to add more panels in the system but 2 strings set 5 panels each. Is any chance to mppt pure drive batteries ( my plan is put 3 to 4 panels over garage) directly or i will need another inverter ( on grid tie limited inverter or microinverter tied to grid) . I'll apreciate any suggestion . Thank you for good video.

Dear EI, I have a 5kw panel / 5kw puredrive / solis set up but since a firmware upgrade on both by the companies themselves I am unable to charge the battery at more than 500wh. I have adjusted the setting to allow a higher ampage charge/discharge and then save and sent the settings (i know the highlight system they use which is a bit counter intuitive so I’m confident I am saving the settings) But the new settings won’t save, they revert to 0.2A and 0.1A. With all your expertise have you any suggestions please.

We had our Solis inverter installed last November 2021. We have had problems ever since. The lights are flickering. On occasion we have complete brown outs constantly every night. Installer also asked us to install 2 different lights but the brownouts continued. When I bypass the Solis system, and go directly to the grid, I have no brownout at all. The installer already replaced the inverter once. If I bypass the system, I have no problem with brownouts. Any help is appreciated

My Inverter is in the loft. Would it be ok/ safe to have a battery fitted in there?

Does setup for Solis+PureDrive OverDischg SOC 10% and ForceCharge SOC 5% is correct?

Cracking video Ben best Ive seen. Looking to install a similar system. We are electrical contractors and as you guess will install it ourselves ( we don't do this for a living we are industrial) But would be like have a dog and barking myself to have it installed Interested to know what in the dist box isolator rcd and meter set up , is it your configuration? seen the schematic but a photo would be perfect? How many PV's are you running, and wattage per panel? I see its a 10K inverter but why 3P instead of single on a domestic install?. Again really professional video!

Hi Paul, appreciate the comment. Thanks for getting in touch. - The distribution box isolator rcd and meter is up to the installer, it is not part of Puredrive's configuration. - The Solis inverters only goes to a max of 6kWh. Hope this helps 🙂

Hi having the same system fitted August, whats the max distance for the CT clamp back to the inverter and is the CT cable a fixed length or can it be extended, thanks for an help

Thanks for your comment. For the Solis inverter, they range between 2.5 metres to 10 metres. They are a fixed length, altering this will affect how accurate the readings are, so we never recommend changing the length.

Won’t the battery below the inverter see more wear and tear since it’s the first connection of both positive and negative? Wondering why the negative cable wasn’t brought to the third battery.

The batteries balance as of is a single battery.

Just had similar setup installed. Solis and pd.. county be happier.. just bought a second battery

I don't think this would pass inspection or is up to the national electrical code...

Can somebody please tell me where you can buy these batteries? I've tried contacting Puredrive directly a few times, no response. I already have one. The installer I had is an absolute joke, installed the second one, it was faulty. Took it away, then got all 😪😪 when I got on to him after he'd still done nothing with it 3 weeks later.....

Nice looking battery system, however trade prices at a glance compared to say a Pylon or GivEnergy seem a little steep to me? Audio on the video is all over the place switching from left to right and vice-versa and the background music just drowns out the commentary - just some feedback!

Why not enable back up if the system has the ability

Can the battery be shut off/ isolated, so that it doesn't provide electricity to the house when main power is shut off at the breaker for electrical work such as changing a plug socket?

You will have isolators installed as part of the PV. You should switch both grid and PV off before doing any work from consumer unit

Are these High Voltage batteries? What is the charge and discharge rate, how much for this kit and do you do the panels / DNO approvals and stuff, are you MSC too?

Hi Justin, - These are are our 5kWh batteries which are 51 volts so are low voltage, we have a high voltage system such as our 3-phase system. - The charging and discharge rates depends on the inverter rating, for example, a 3.6kWh inverter would charge and discharge at 3kWh. - For pricing, please fill out the sales enquiry form on our website at puredrive-energy.co.uk/contact-puredrive-energy/ . - We are MCS certified, yes. Shame PureDrive app isn’t compatible with PureDrive 2 batteries, which is what their customer services tell us. So there is no way to directly monitor battery performance. Had hoped PureDrive would be a better company to deal with. Wouldn’t it be good if installers made a mention of these details before we users commit to buying!

Curious as to the issues you have with the inverter. I've got one installed and it has some software limitations but since there's an active community supporting it in things like homeassistant I've found I've been able to control it quite well.

I’ve just repaired a Solis inverter. Fitter took one look at it and said it’s faulty, I have one in my van and it will cost you £1200 fitted. I looked at it and repaired it for £6.50. Still working months later

Had this system installed a year ago...never worked properly. I have had the engineers round I think 8 times. They have to come up all the way to my house (in Scotland) from south England and still doesn't work. Waste of my time and money and theirs as well. Wish I had never bought it

Just get rid of the music over toning your voice.. I turned off.

Couldn't hear anything Ben was saying at the beginning thanks to that b*** background music ! . . ok for the first few seconds, but after that just turn it off !
