+Javier Martinez  ''In your eyes'' was about the love triangle of his then wife Jill and Roseanna,From 1982 to 1987 he went back and forth he wanted them both but Jill would not have it.and they split up. So sad i think Jill and Peter looked beautyful together but sometimes it doesn't work out. He then lived with Roseanna and that was a bad rebound they had alot  of fights real fights.Know he is with Meabh a freindship relationship sexaully not a good looking woman i think she has a body of a 12 year old boy, and NOT very PRETTY.SO SAD :'(

You Peter will always be in my heart from the very first time I heard you sing In your eyes I was pregnant with my daughter me and my husband at the time was going to a pumpkin show. I will never ever forget the way that song made me feel. It’s extremely emotional and it is very near to my heart ❤️. Thank you for all your songs . Don’t give up has helped me out a lot throughout my journey and it has saved me many times from committing suicide. So thank you very much.

In Your Eyes was NOT written about Roseanna Arquette. Ppl don't do the math. It was about me. She walked in the flat I shared with Peter, carrying groceries and I was there. I'd just flown from NY. That was in 1987. SO came out in 1986. We were together for 2 and half years. Until that day. My jaw dropped. "Uh-Oh", she said. "I'll give you a few minutes" and she dropped the groceries, and walked out. My heart was pounding in my ears. The jet lag was hitting me, I wanted to sleep so badly, but adrenalin kept me from doing so. I left that minute. He obviously wasn't there when this occurred. Cell phones weren't a thing yet. We didn't speak again for a decade. Roseanna has no idea, BTW, who Anne Sexton is. At the time, I was obsessed with her poetry and life. Most importantly, two people lived that time together, which created SO. And that cannot be taken away. I remain anonymous in the public's eye unless I out myself. In such a narcissistic world, I'm sure it seems unthinkable. Especially when someone else takes credit for being the muse.

No, Peter was not dating her at that time, he was still married to his wife in 1985-86! But he had certainly met Rosanna for the first time in 1982 and he and his wife were living separately for two years between 1982-1984. So who knows, he must have been at least thinking about Rosanna at the time, even though he tried to save his marriage by getting together again with Jill for two more years... But as soon as he got divorced in 1987, Rosanna - who had gotten married in 1986 - also got divorced after only a year and they did start a relationship @5871

In Your Eyes holds such a significant importance to me in my heart. I have a girl I only have seen in dreams (as of now, I know she is real, I shall elaborate on her another time). Our song is In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. Her name, Eliana Delmyna Rubio and she is a short haired Latina goddess who loves play fighting and cries at movies and music (including In Your Eyes). Every time I hear the song, I can feel her delicate breath upon my neck and smell her mid end designer perfume. If I could ever Meet Mr. Gabriel in person, I'd like to thank him for fostering hope in my weary soul, a hope for romance and a peaceful happily ever after.

The Inspiration Behind "In Your Eyes" 1148am 10.8.23 i have been enjoying the wild man of prog, brian. and the brief cameo by his nibs the meister was a kow-tow moment in musical history - old PG showing he aint he too big for his boots or his zimmer or whatever those things are called they scoot about on... not much to say about Bri, really. he is what he is, a thing in himself... a phenomenon in his own lunch time, even. the last word should always go to him, to Bri, else you just lose the magic and the jest... intentionally or no. p.s sadly, though, not one mention of the title of the song which started all this: Supper's Ready. whether black white yellow or off piste - you all need a bit of Supper.... in your life. n.b the resurgence of young havers over there, without the slightest twinkle or inking of bemusement, has been refreshing.... and he should do more comedy... cheers!! and, no doubt, more burds...

I believe the inspiration for In Your Eyes was when he said songs are like memory stamps. The music artists and songs they sung influenced him. I think he was basically talking about their eyes and how their songs influenced him. I could be wrong but that’s my take from it ❤️
