I love the feeling you get when you've punched through the inside and sit up on your board to catch your breath only to see a fresh set barreling down on you.

Dang dude, at 4:45 burned that boog pretty hard.
Surfed most of my life...now closer to 60 and bummed not being in the water due to some injuries from a fall during a gardening accident of all things. Doing the physio, but have to be patient...plan to get back out there in due time! Live vicariously through your videos...thanks for showing the work/fitness/stamina it takes to get out there and get proper positioning for those sweet long barrels while enjoying your youth!

I’m sure I’m not the only one that has watched all the surfers from Hawaii’s vlogs for years now. To go on about your lives without a word about the tragedy in Maui says a lot about all your characters.. I believe there’s a big media blackout about it, if so, stay real at let the people know. It means more than whatever waves your catchin. Don’t forget you guys are standing on the shoulders of the locals that are now suffering. Amazing video as always but it hits different knowing that every video that goes up you’re ignoring the ones that need you most. Stand up if there’s corruption. You have the platform. I say this all with love.

@@siIIysnake that’s true I don’t want to say they aren’t helping in any way. I know they’ve been doing a lot behind the scenes and helping raise a lot of money for the survivors. I just think these pro surfers from Hawaii are the ones that have the biggest platform to share the reality of how the locals have been treated. Things don’t add up. Police closing down donation hubs. Police blocking roads while the fires were going. If I can find this information from Australia there’s no doubt with the connections these guys have from Hawaii they haven’t heard about what’s really happening. I understand the risk involved when going against mainstream media and it could hurt their channel but I think you’ll get a hell of a lot more respect for it.

Finally, a surfing video gives us the paddle out. And most definitely, a skill set in itself for sure. All around a very good perspective of what surfing Skeletons is like. You don't realize how much of a long current there is. 5 or 6 loops equaling a marathon. Not for the faint hearted.
This is the best video so many times caught inside paddling out and seeing the lineup and surfers just beyond reach. For anyone who has experience this it puts you right there! Stoked you made a couple🤙

Yup. It's quite the feeling. I need a nap after watching this paddle out.
I sure thought after that hard paddle out past the breakers, he would have rested a bit, maybe shouted out to someone... Nope. He turned his board around and jumped in, on the next wave...killer view from inside the tunnel... swallowed up whole . Then he comes up, turns around, and paddle back out...Great spirit for the sport!
As a guy that surfs with his contacts because I am blind without them , I think it is incredible that you managed to save your one contact out there! Once I lose one it’s game over for me until I go in and get a replacement. Unreal!

Thanks for taking us out with you. I enjoyed it. Been having some stressful days, and even though it's only a video and I am hundreds of miles from an ocean...this was so fine for me. I love watching the waves build out in the distance as you paddle toward them. Then as one let's you ride, it's as if it cradles you in it's hand letting you feel and see the beauty and magnificence of something way more powerful and intense than we even know. Love this! You have a great gift out there and it's amazing that you share it!
Nice to see the Inbetweeners not just the best sections Thanks Nate.

I love the vibe. Long desert point, with multi take offs. I feel your pain Nate. Those paddle outs.😂
Amazing footage Amazing ride unbelievable epic ride
That special feeling when you finally make it out of the inside and then a set wave drops on your head. EEEEEEEAAAAW! If you know you know.😉
This qualifies as a slab! Thanks for taking us on your ride
loved the paddle out alongside Brett Barley!
Awesome perspectives
Amazing. One question, why do you keep looking to your watch? To controll your gopro?
Thats some unbelievable lung burning fitness there. Good content thanks for sharing.
Nate, you should consider putting a timer and duck dive counter on the screen for the paddle outs. I.e., your first paddle out took exactly 3 minutes (1:00 - 4:00) and 7 duck dives. That way we could keep up with all your spots and have a better idea as to degree of difficulty for each. You could even include a “current” meter/rating based on your interpretation of how much water is moving around too. Nothing like duck diving and then getting sucked back or put off balance slightly and then having to gain forward momentum again.
I was wanting to see this kind of video, thanks!! And I’m wondering, are you mostly alone there since it’s so spread out?
That was awesome. Cheers
pretty good timing!
wow! what a ride... i would think the shortest flatest fastest, and bluntest board would work best, and easiest to deal with during the marathon portion... 5-9x20 quad, outline like a cross between a mini simmons and towboard...and not too light. short flat strong secure and mobile in tight places!
this is dope
its the stamina haha love seeing you all nonstop score
4:49 why did you take that wave? The dude seems to be in the barrel, am I wrong?
Holy shit, that wave at 6:29.
Nobdy loves paddle outs as much as Nathan:)
Amazing !
HAMMERED!!!!
This was sick. It seemed like most white water had a “wave” at the base of it allowing most duck dives to work… always nice seeing that vs. a boiling pit every wave that passes.
Every duck dive I'm half expecting to see Bruce from finding Nemo grinning at the GoPro! 😅
Nate, we need to see some vid of you getting barreled while wearing your Urqel glasses! Zoard I'm counting on you to make this happen. I didn't know that you surf with contacts. I have many friends who, while kayaking, in the middle of gnarly rapids have to put their contacts back in their eyes after taking a big hit! So gnarly and much respect! Do you get the same barrel vision without your contacts? How does it affect your surfing? I'm happy for you on slab tour, it's the best and I hope your elbow heals right ❤
love it

Did you ever duck dive under a wave and see a shark nearby? Great video as always. I can feel your exhaustion from my couch. lol
love you nathan
Great session! Take my advice and get LASIK. It was one of the best things I ever did. Wearing contacts in salt water is tortuous.
Matador 's🤩
Just a question as someone who is going to get lasik, any reason you haven? I hate contacts
We live through you Nate you goat you
تبارك الله عليك الله يحفظك امين🌊💙🌊
That is a great perspective on how it is to paddle out there. That water is so dark! It's scary but beautiful stuff. Thank you for this! Nathan, you are a legend!!!
These boys have some right balls on them! I wouldn't try this for all the tea in China! 😂👊
So I’m assuming with contacts your never open your eyes under water? How bad is your prescription? If you lose them, could you get in safely
if you open your eyes when duckdiving,, does the contact often come out?
Bro skills on the contact
The other day about 2 months ago paddling out at my spot I took 19-20 plus duck dives just get out no where as big as that, by the time I got out I felt every bit of my 67 yrs old what made it so bad it was low tide so no deep duck dives😅
You really make me feel What i want to feel 🔥
I’m only 3 minutes in and I feel exhausted for you 😂
39:37 is so sick bro
Impressive
That second one was an absolute Heartbreaker I bet.
Hey Nat, what watch are you using?
Saving a contact is such a great feeling especially when its firing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wilbur is happy Nate made it out of that shark infested washing machine spin cycle alive!
I think a jet ski would be helpful!🤙
Crazy water in the strike zone
What an insanely long ride @7.40
Dude get lasik already!!! Frick I almost drown Keiki my first year in Hawaii because contacts got blown out....I swear lasik was part of keeping me safe in the ocean is there a reason you're not? It's amazing and simple if you're on the fence...do it!
Howsit Nathan! I see you’re in Cape Town. How about arranging a meet and greet with a few of the local lads?
Nate at 39:00 you're pulling your board in, wondering if you bailed on that one(looked especially heavy) or did it get ripped from you? I know you try to never bail , but at what point is it worth it? its probably just an experience thing I guess? apologize for the very low intermediate question!

Those waves breaking on a sandbar out that far
That wasn’t cool you “icing” the bodyboarder @ 4:51, who was clearly in the barrel & it wasn’t closing down on him! SMH
29:47 I really felt that even out of the water
