The part I love most about this, is the price differential between an S class and an old Saab can result in so little difference in time. Just shows you can achieve a lot without needing a super expensive car.

Grady holds the lower 48 record. 86:19 We met and ran the Musketball together with Chris. 34:48 was our time in that. The team gelled. We decided to do this. 65:19 C2C2C.
It's interesting which cars are great at this run. The Saab was a brave choice and the S550 a brilliant one. Maybe a M550i will make for a great run, and stock in terms of engine I think.
This gives real detail of what all goes into the logistics of a cannonball. Good work boys!

I71 from Columbus to Cleveland was always crazy on Christmas eve, a cop every 5-7 miles, no way to get out of the median to stop anyone. Set the cruise in the truck at 78 in the split speed limit days, and the only cars i passed were coming off the i270 ramp.

It really doesn’t like long periods of breaking. It heats the fluid very fast if you don’t have the big carbon ceramic breaks. Even with high temp fluid in the system.
In order to make it from the Portofino to Barstow, CA (134 miles) in 35 minutes makes that an average of 230mph. That car can't go that fast.

I expedite freight. Marathon non stop driving is my business.
Id love to see how fast someone can accomplish a cannonball run in a totally stock car without all the added equipment. Obviously makes it much harder which is also the point. Would take even more planning because you'll have more frequent fuel stops so the route could vary a bit. Using anything on a phone would be fine since that's not something you're adding to the vehicle. So whatever apps you can download would be usable. Im sure noone wants to do this because how much harder it would be and higher likelihood of police trouble. But hoping someone at somepoint says screw it, time for a stock car record lol.
