The Inkey List Niacinamide or The Ordinary Niacinamide
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Which is better The Inkey List Niacinamide or The Ordinary Niacinamide?
It depends on your skin type and any secondary skin concern you may have.
Both options offer affordable skincare for acne prone skin. Both brands of Niacinamide will improve skin tone and texture, hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea, fine lines, and skin dullness.
The Inkey is formulated with fatty acids in skincare that help hyperpigmentation.
The Ordinary is lighter weight and better suited for Oily Skin types.
Apply after using an oil skin face wash. The Inkey list is formulated with soothing ingredients to further calm irritation, sensitive skin, rosacea skin. Enjoy this video as we review skin care routines dermatologist approved!
I know there are new options for the ordinary skincare niacinamide but I highly recommend going with this version of Niacinamide Serum vs the ordinary niacinamide powder!

I literally LOVE your channel, knowledgeable woman of color... You break everything down piece by piece making it so easy to understand. As to be expected because your skin is flawless..
Thank you!!! I'm so glad I found your channel. I've battled sensitive hyperpigmentation skin all my life. To have information and products to use on people of color is Amazing.
I swear female dermatologists have the same voice. Super soothing and sweet sounding lol. Very informative video!
You are fantastic! I love a working mom who is not only smart but creative! Thank you.
This may not sound as impressing to you, being that you have no idea who I am, but I actually learned a new thing today. I had known about the different components of oils but had a hard time categorizing them in my mind. You helped solved a huge issue in my way of approaching skincare. Thank you, immensely. 🙌🏽
Good Morning Dr. Stephens! So HAPPY to get your professional opinion on the Inkey List products! I've been researching for a few days because since COVID and mask wearing, my skincare has fallen WAYYYYY off. I need to get my LIFE!...and my SKIN! Thank youuuuu
The Inkey List is my favourite. It’s well rounded and my skin loves it. I got The Ordinary’s as well but my skin reacted to it. I can handle it now but it took me some time and when I use it, I’m very careful and I only use a small drop of it (I use up to three small drops of The Inkey List niacinamide). But both are good, affordable products. I love them.
Thank you so much for this video!! My skin loves all the recommendations x
Great video! Thanks, Dr. Stephens!
Your skin is gorgeous!!! And explained things really well. You've got a new subscriber
It was relieving getting a comparison from an actual doctor and a black doctor at that!!!
I didn’t realize that it could be different formulas for different skin types. As a new subscriber I need to say thank you for such a great informative video.

Thank you for this explanation. It was very clear and straightforward. I always wondered which was better and whether or not I could use it. I recovered from peri oral dermatitis several months ago and my skin was so sensitive. I can finally use products such as hyaluronic acid etc. I’m going to try to incorporate the Inkey List Niacinamide to further improve my skin barrier. Please continue to produce these videos! They’re very helpful. Also new subbie! 😃👍🏽
I have watched all your videos, I can't get enough and you became my most skincare trustee KZreadr, thanks so much for explaining so well! @@DrAlexisStephens Hi Dr. Stephens. I'm a new subscriber and am learning so much from you. I do have a question. As a African American female, just learning to use these products to treat a new case of hyperpigmentation I've been experiencing, is it safe to combine the Inkey niacinamide with the Drunken Elephant B-Hydra Hydration serum? Please advise 🙏

First Dr. Alexis, your skin is gorgeous! And you are stunning! Second, this was such a wonderful explanation of the basics of niacinamide. And th a nk you for explaining the differences in these two brands, I use Good Molecules Niacinamide Toner which I've found works wonders for me because it has licorice root, arbutin & vit C. It's lovely, but so many of my subscribers ask me about these 2 brands so now I have your very informative video to send them to! Thank you so much!

For someone who has been battling acne for almost 3 decades, I am glad for this detailed explanation, thank you. Quick question: can I layer this solution with Differine? (oily skin)
this is so helpful, thank you!!
Dr. Alexis your explanation on how niacinamide doesn't get rid of pores, instead it helps to reduce sebum accumulation in the pores is worth noting. Thank you.
Thank you for this video and other skin topics you covered, ive truly learnt alot. Although some of your recommended items don't ship to the UK.

Hi Dr. Stephens!! Thank you for this video! I was wondering if you had a recommendation for someone dealing with fungal acne? I’m currently trying to get mine under control and want to try niacinamide but worried about any potential red flags in regards to using it with my fungal acne?
Hi Dr. Stephens I am so happy to have found your channel. I'm 31 years old and I'm currently suffering with a lot hyperpigmentation and acne, which I believes is a result of the mask requirement. The Obagi system has recently been recommend to me (which contain 4% hydroquinone). I've been using the system for a week now and I see some results. The dark marks and scars are lightening, but I'm also seeing some peeling and small white head type pimples in that same area. I'm not sure if its hydroquinone is a product that I should be using due to working in the sun for at least 12+ hours most days as a police officer. Thanks in advance.
Amazing video, thank you !!!
Dr Alexis is God sent..
Great video! Really helpful 🙏🏻
Wonderful information and comparison of these brands. I've never tried either of these but have used the Paula's Choice Niacinamide for years and I love it. I love your explanation to pretreat with Niacinamide too! I can't typically use L ascorbic but love SAP, MAP and THD is my fave form of Vit C. I will try using Niacinamide with L ascorbic and see if it stops the irritation. Such great info!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!!

Great job on delivery this information! I'm curious what you would consider the correct amount to use. I'm using the TO and I keep hearing different things...some say 3 drops others use full dropper??? Thank you for your advice!
Very informative! Thank you 😊
Good explanation .. very informative.. I was just getting ready to order so this really helped!!!
You’re the best, Dr. Stephens! I’ve learned so much from you. My skin looks better than ever. Thank you!
Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos! I am wondering if I can use both at the same time? I have combo skin with oily skin in my T-zone and normal (sometimes dry) skin in other areas. I also have hyper-pigmentation around my cheek and chin area. I was thinking of using The Ordinary niacinamide on my t-zone and the Inkey List niacinamide on other areas of my face. Thoughts?
Thank you so much for you wonderful channel and great information. I have been fighting hyperpigmentation for a while and I see some real improvement with some of the products that you’ve recommended, but the only thing is is there a pure product of Alpha Arbutin Without hydraulic acid I find that Hyaluronic acid makes me break out in pimples and the Alpha Arbutin has Hyaluronic acid I it. Would you be able to suggest a substitute? Thank you sooo much!
This was so helpful! Your teaching on the kinetics/dynamics of niacinamide actually helped me understand how it works! I wish you were teaching all my courses in nursing school 🤣💗

Wow mind blown. So I was unable to tolerate Ordinary's aha/bha peel and stopped using it. But my skin didn't feel like it was getting the exfoliation it needed from the mandelic acid, and I was using it frequently probably to the point of wasting it. Around the same time, I started the mandelic, about a month ago I also started their niacinamide + zinc. Well, yesterday I tried the aha/bha again. I used to only be able to leave it on a few minutes, last time I just couldn't keep it on at all. Rinsing it off in seconds. Mind you I was still using manual exfoliation with a silicone electric scrubber on a couple of days, so I also stopped using that. Yesterday, when I put the aha/bha on I, forgot it was on. I had no burning sensation at all. I had no idea what was happening until I watched the video today. She's right, if you have trouble tolerating acids, this is the one. I am starting retinol in the evening too this week and chucking the mandelic. I'm just not feeling it...or use as a lip exfoliant..dunno...maybe it was the wrong time for that active but i was just so meh to annoyed with it. And even though I really messed up with retinol and acids and burned myself years ago, i know not to use them at the same time now. Older, wiser, and tired of zits lol. I think retinol is an advanced skincare ingredient. You gotta use it just right or you can mess yourself up. Anyway, I'm glad that I am starting the retinol after the niacinamide now after seeing this video.
Refreshing! Subscribed.

Great video! I’ll try the niacinamide by the inky list. I’ve been using the ordinary niacinamide for the past 2 months and it dries my skin out really badly for some reason. I have combination skin. I only use it every other night because of this. I was quite frustrated because everyone swears by it but my experience was not as magical. But it does get rid of my closed comedones reallly well.

Great video! Could you review the new Elf moisturizers that are fragrance free? I also think they have a humectant gel that’s similar to the hydro boost water gel.
Thank you Dr Alexis.. Ive been using The Inkey List Niacinamide for dry acne prone skin and my skin is loving it straight away. Spots are healing and improved texture. I believe it will help my acne scarring along with the faded cream and Paulas Choice Omega+ complex moisturiser 😊
Hi Dr Alexis, I love all of your informative videos!!!! Hormonal acne with hyperpigmentation. Can I/should I use the inky list niacinamide or not since it has soybean oil in it???? I hear soybean oil and hormonal acne isn’t a good combination. Please help. Thank you!!!

This was so informative and thorough. Can you please review BLACK girl and Versed sunscreen? I am of the darker hue and dont wear make up. Making it extremely difficult to combat the Cast/Ash that mineral sunscreens leave. However, ive been indoctrinated to believe that Chemical sunscreen that in most instances are not healthy for skin in the long run but are less expensive. The trial and error of finding a mineral sunscreen that is viable for my skin is becoming financially unbearable.
I'm so glad I found you as my dermatologist. Can't wait to see my skin transform with your help.
