The Influence of Christian Zionism in US Christian Denominations

Christian Zionism is more common among Baptist and non-denominational churches in the United States. Mainline denominations like Lutherans, Methodists, and Episcopalians have had little impact from Zionism. Catholics and Lutherans may not be Zionists, but they also don't pick a side. The decline of mainline denominations has allowed fundamentalist and evangelical churches to grow in force, many of which have a Christian Zionist flavor. Christian Zionism is seen as a distortion of Christian teaching and understanding, and it has had a significant impact on US foreign policy in the Middle East.
