I believe the questions were edited out, but I agree. If you noticed at the beginning, the interviewer's audio wasn't great and probably was set up that the rabbi would have the good audio set up (like if they know they only had one good mic) because the questions or prompts would be removed. Happens a lot in the interview world.

As a mother of 4 adults who are all practicing Jews. I hope more people would share this video on their channels. You can't imagine the verbal abuse I've taken throughout the years anytime I try and say Zionism is not Judaism... everything from being called "self hating" to "fake" and worse. There are and have been millions of Jews against Zionism throughout the world but living in the U.S. you wouldn't even know we exist. I also want to add how proud I've been lately to see so many of the anti-zionist protests in the U.S. organized and attended by Jews. Very thought-provoking. The only part I’d like to challenge him on is his final point, that seeking Jewish allies in particular can detract from the long-term goal. I think that Jews speaking out is critical and more are needed. Yes “not in my name” with respect to genocide, and maybe just that, does not go far enough I agree. But if Jewish people start with that, they are partway to where he believes they need to get. They are already saying “the so-called Jewish state, that purports to represent me, doesn’t represent me, and in fact I oppose it” is very important. To start, to refute the ridiculous accusations of anti-semitism, and those accusations and the smears that come with them are real - but losing their power. By calling everything anti-semitic, the spuriousness of the charge (when its about opposing the genocide of Palestinians) is exposed.

23:39 "Israel's own Supreme Court said that one of the mainstay of Zionism and it really is the mainstay of Zionism is that Israel is the state of the Jews as opposed to the state of its citizens". 24:08 "When the Nazis came to the Morocans and told them to give them Morocco' Jews, so the head of Morocco said, 'We don't have any Jews here. We only have Moroccans'". 24:37 "But Israel has nothing to do with the Jews. The Jews are not a nationality, and even if they would be, Israel is not their country"

I've learned so much listening to these two first parts. He's an incredible person, and the interviewer is also really good.

I know some Muslims and Palestinians will have a step back when hearing his advice for that Muslim speaker and Palestinians in general, but he spoke the absolute truth here. And I'm saying this as a Muslim. His whole series of points was that Zionism has hijacked the Jewish identity and transformed it into a nationalistic movement that now rules the state of Israel, claiming the state as a state for the Jews of the world, not just in Israeli borders. His point of seeking Israeli allies is very succinct, and all Palestinians and Muslims who are serious about peace and defeating Zionism should be looking to influence the Israeli people themselves to begin cracking the foundations of Zionism. This isn't just a fight to free Palestine, which is paramount, but to end the horrific ideology of Zionism and free the Jews from this ideology permanently. And maybe with that hypothetical goal achieved, then Israel can be transformed into a one state land where Israelis, Palestinians, Arabs, Jews, Christians, and the Muslims all can share nationality in and can live with equal rights, which should be the only long term solution for the land.

That would be great in theory, but you are asking for the impossible. You're asking to transform athiest zionists into non zionist, potentially less-athiest/better jews who will nilly-willy give away their power through military might to the Muslims. You're also forgetting about the Temple project (a zionist idea or not) still fuels Islamophobia since a holy Muslim quarter stands in the way. Finally the most vicious of them all: Evangelical Zionist Christians, who believe the Jews MUST be rounded up in Palestine for their lovely end scenario to occur. The diagnosis is correct, the cure feels closer to hopes and dreams atm.

I think you're conflicting things. Islamist is not "an atheist non religious movement using Islamic symbols as tools to accomplish their project". That's Zionism. "Islamist" is a derogatory term used in mainstream media synonymizing more or less "a more religious than others" Muslim. For instance a political party that rules their country using some degree of Sharia law (Islamic law) will be called an Islamist party. But in fact, they're just Muslims. and i don't think Jews and Muslims, (real jews, not zionists) ever had issues living together. E.g: Morocco, Tunisia have many jews even today. never heard a single fight.shooting. etc.

We can and should live together, all religions, atheiests, and agnostics. (freedom of religion should also include freedom from religion) We are all humans and have so much to give and share. Thanks for bringing the awareness of this topic further. I believe Rabbi Shapiro invoked an immensely important point when he mentioned a Muslim man being a 'Zionist' himself without knowing it. That is mindboggling and comes down to the level of ignorance on this subject by both Muslims and Jews which drastically delays any long term paths towards end of tensions and peace. As a Muslim, I thank you Rabbi Shapiro, and I thank my Tunisian Jewish fellow citizens (the ones who stayed in their country) who never recognized that their Jewishness meant that they had anything to do with the Zionist state. I truly think that some media outlets and even TRT should shed some light on their stories and they would probably say the same things Rabbi Shapiro said which gives me hope.

Wow what a difference between Rabbi Shapiro and that horrible man Ben Shapiro.

As a Jew, you have an obligation to protect Jews in Israel. You don’t have to be a Zionist. It’s plain Judaism.

That was brilliant.

I definitely agree with his notion of citizenship and the need to end Zionism ideology, but nonetheless, this could be a unity cause for all the Jews that are also demanding peace and justice for the Palestinians. I don't think they are mutually exclusive. In times of struggle and war unity for the greater good is fundamental. I'm sure that the majority of Jews that stand with the Palestinian cause also understand the root cause of the problem.

Many Americans do consider America to be a Christian nation, possibly a judeo-christian nation, which puts it in the same world as Israel being a Jewish nation. And, ostensibly, an American does not necessarily support America. Wish I could ask Rabbi Shapiro to clarify my confusion. Aside from these and some other questions, I think this is such an important conversation.

Very good or excellent part 2. Before listening to this, I re-listened to part 1 again, and the two combined make for a very good session. Thank you both for this.

He said state of the israelis not the jews, but there are arab-Israelis / muslim-Israelis who denounce hamas and even fight in the IDF. I feel everything he's saying already makes it clear that Israel isn't the state of the jews because it's so secular. Jews have to be observant in Torah, it seems like many secular "Jews" are waking up to this, including those in Israel. But if you have Jewish genetics you can be activated from secular mode, to jew mode and become more torah observant.

Absolutely mind blowing education for us non Jews thank you so much for educating me and hopefully everyone who watches this video

So israel is the state of a religion, which sort of undermines what Judaism means.. for me personally I start not to understand this religion, I've read the torah and some of the talmud, through curiosity. These ideologys are more than a thousand years old and does not reflect the current day/days way of life, but how to deal with episodes that were presented in that era when the words were written. You can tell a bird is a bird by its behaviour, taking into account behaviour also has sub groups attached to it, The same is true for humans. I agree with traditions but when a persons or group of peoples traditions negatively impacts another group of people through behaviour, It's time to think how different are we from all other animal species, Some say they are great thinkers , but I wonder what you think about...
