Nah, definitely a human time traveller from the future preparing us for an alien invasion. SpaceX so we can have a secondary base on Mars, and a network of detection satellites. Orion Riley I don't think they did. I watched it later in the afternoon yesterday and in both videos you see the flames of a booster off to the left which is slightly lower than the one with the camera. They fired at the same time even though they were supposed to be separated by a few seconds. Unless they went back and fixed it after that even.

A camera on one of the boosters failed. So yes they were showing the same booster on 2 screens. You can check this buy looking at the dirt on the screen and the fact that they both landed on the same pad. There were 2 landing pads painted differently. The 2 screens were of the booster that landed further away from the screen as you can see the paint on the closer one landing pad was different.

I'm going to refer back to your comment when visiting the ULA, there's just something emotional about this. Thank you for this video and helping us to feel what it's like to be there in person, it's a dream of mine to be present at a launch and this was as close as I've ever been. I love your content and I spent hours last night watching all your videos while I was tinkering with my RC cars. A+ work Destin!
I know it is something that happens all the time, but it is amazing how you can see something and then hear it a few seconds later. You're receiving information about the same thing but the delay is fascinating when you really think about it. You're listening to something you watched happen 20 seconds ago. You're literally listening to the past. Almost like some extension of time travel.
@konmillion
6 жыл бұрын
I know it spoils the effect but I decided to google the distance between the launchpad and the building then calculate the time it would take for sound to travel the distance so I could sink up the audio for that section. It gives an awesome impression of the power of it.

The craziest way I've experienced this was at an NHRA drag race. In the milliseconds it takes for them to start moving and your brain to process that they are a good distance off the starting line before the enormous roar hits you.
Having worked out at Kennedy Space Center, I was able to experience some rocket launches very close up. I can verify that this is closest thing to actually being there out of any other video on KZread I've seen. The only thing it is missing is the feeling in your chest. Every one of those pops and cracks you hear in the recording (which really start getting intense around 3:54) you feel not only in your chest but you feel as though your whole body is vibrating from the sheer intensity of the sound. I highly suggest that if you have the means to see a rocket launch up close like this DO IT. It is an experience that will stay with you forever.
I cried watching this. Thank you

There is a possible solution. Tactile transducers might nail the even deeper frequencies below what the best high end headphones could deliver. The problem is you would need a 3rd channel and a special recording device that is sensitive to deep vibrations and ground energy waves. Sound engineers have been struggling with this challenge for decades.
I seriously don’t understand why people dislike these types of videos, the majority of videos on KZread as a matter of fact...

Didn't they duplicate the booster feeds initially, then replaced it on the posted video? I noticed it as they landed that they were on the same pad :)

It was the same feed just duplicated. You can watch the newest video on the SpaceX channel (not the stream) to see the actual 2 feeds.

As someone who is blind I really appreciate this. Whilst I still have some useful vision left this really added to the experience. I will sub to your channel. I’m guessing they others have told you but it turns out they accidentally put one booster feed on both screens in the live broadcast. Apparently it’s been fixed in the updated video.

Thank you so much for sharing the audio and video! I have never experienced anything like that just from my phone! I even was not able to go to America. Thank you so much once again dude! You really made my day!
Actually, the live feed from the two boosters looked identical because someone messed it up and just duplicated the image. There are three dead giveaways that it's the same footage: 1) a speck of dust diffracting the light on the camera lens in identical position on both views, 2) the landing pad being identical, even though one booster landed on a white landing pad, and the other on a black one, and 3) the boosters did not land at the exact same time, but one landed about a second before the other. In a video later uploaded by SpaceX you can see the footage from the two boosters and it's quite different.

It just feels kind of weird that they updated it and represented it as the same live stream with the glitch that we all saw. The commentary during the stream made the same mistake Destin did. Now it's accurate but only by dumb luck.

SpaceX have left the original streamed video on their channel, with the footage mistake. They've also uploaded a new video with the mistake corrected. The description is "This is an updated version of the live webcast to include both side booster cameras and additional Starman views."

Matt I noticed the same thing. The proof is in the landing. The two landing zones are painted different. Also you can see the second rocket burn at the top of the feed in both of them because it was lower than the rocket that the two video feeds where coming from.

Outstanding! I've never experienced a rocket launch (in a video) soundwise without clipping and usually being left with a mere rumbling in the low frequencies. This was really a first hand experience. Even the STS-51C in IMAX, though really impressive, did not match your sound quality. With a good pair of headphones this was literally a blast! Thanks!

They messed up the live stream with the side boosters. It was actually the same camera feed
@Silverlan17
6 жыл бұрын
Are you sure about that? If you look closely, you can see some subtle differences. For instance, you can tell that the right camera is angled slightly more to the left relative to the rocket. That wouldn't make any sense if they were same camera feed.
@HedgeDog

@dsdy1205

Silverlan17 it might not have been the same camera, but it was definitely the same booster. If you see the end, both feeds show the booster landing on the same pad, which is patently impossible.
@wmwnwmn
6 жыл бұрын
Silverlan17 in the main feed (not in destins vid) you can see the southern rocket ignite at the top of both screens. In destins vid you can see that one rocket (southern is guess) lands a bit before the other one. Looking moisture/dirt appearing on the cameras at the same time, how they both land on the same pad in the vid, and seeing the other rocket ignite in both feeds, I'd say it's the same view duplexed onto the screen.
When I listened to this when it was posted, it was the first time I listened to my headphones at 100% volume. I do it all the time now just for that incredible sound experience.
Always wanted to hear a launch from the Cape, thank you. The delay is amazing, the rockets are down before you hear the sonic boom. Cheers from NZ
Funny thing is: I hear exactly 6 sonic booms. boom boom boom - boom boom boom

Each rocket generates 3 sonic booms while landing since there were 2 rockets landing the first 3 are from the first one that landed and the later 3 from the other one.

that.... WAS FANTASTIC!!! I started listening to this with my eyes closed just to get my brain calibrated. Loved all the little booms of the controlled explosions (aka thrust) on liftoff! Thank you for making these videos!
at 6:20 approx, the boosters have turned on their grid fans so that's the third sonic boom and we can actually hear the third sonic boom at 6:48 approx, by this you can actually calculate the distance of the photographer's location from the rocket landing position. D=V*T, 343(speed of sounds in m/s) multiplied by 28. This guys were atleast 9600 meters away or 9.6 km away. Jesus physics is cool af.

Not sure which I like better. Listening to it with headphones, or listening to it on my big stereo with my subwoofer shaking the whole house. Pretty sure I know which one my neighbors prefer. I think the best of both worlds would be the headphones plus a mass driver (ButtKicker or SoundShaker products) attached directly to my chair.

I remember bwing in university and the guy at the end of the hall had just built a heathkit very expensive staste-of-the-art stereo set, and was playing his brand new four channel Pink Floyd---Dark side of moon album, on the chicken heart song! He warned us it was very loud, and playing lower than the human ear can even hear. then we felt our shirts thump thump and seconds later heard the loud heart beat! I'll never forget that. I know your stereo would really sound very good too, daemn42
