This WAS the Hulk in the Avengers movies. Just because the actor changed does NOT make it a different character, as it's always been the same Bruce Banner/Hulk- despite the actor change. Just like how the James "Rhodey" Rhodes" played by Terrence Howard in Iron Man 1 is the exact same James "Rhodey" Rhodes that has been played by Don Cheadle since Iron Man 2- the actor change there doesn't mean that it's a different version of the character- because it's not. As such, this is the EXACT same Hulk that is in The Avengers movies.

Ruffalos adaptation of this hulk is severely goofy and only used as comic relief post Infinity War. We get it’s technically the same character but they’ve completely changed and butchered him for the worst…

I'll always love the description Liv Tyler gave of Betty Ross -- She was the only person who could look at the mighty Incredible Hulk and still see Bruce Banner.

This Hulk actually felt scary

The fact that abomination strength wise is probably above Thanos, but this hulk even though he never actually fought(he was being defensive throughout the entire movie and just wanted to be left alone and probably only used 10% of his powers at most) still managed to somehow defeat abomination. Whether you guys deny it or not this hulk would have ripped Thanos to pieces cause he wouldn't stop until Thanos is down

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I was watching Thanos beat Hulks ass. I thought one of his traits was the fact that he never gives up and only gets stronger the angrier he gets. Which is a staple to his bottomless strength. In retrospect Im glad they didnt use this Hulk for the Avengers movies because he wouldve ended it a half hour in lol

Except that Thanos had the Power Stone by the time they first met. Even if he didn't defeat Hulk at his base strength, the fight would still be one-sided the moment he uses the stone.

The angry hulk from 2015 or 2008 won't even flinch by those moves, just like against hulkbuster armour, He was almost unaffected How is it possible that hulk got bruised heavily by a few jabs landed by thanos, but an entire building, 20+ punches and A lot more by hulkbuster, was not able to do so? the hulk lost there itself, when he saw thanos breaking his Chokehold ; this is not the characteristic of Angry hulk, who didn't even flinch at the attacks of hulkbuster and instead of crying or getting surprised, got even more angry. we got robbed not having this as the MCU hulk. Ruffalo was the better banner, but this was the better hulk. This one would’ve been able to go a couple rounds with Thanos hand to hand

basically Ross's resourceful strategy, "where is the fifty call?" --> "where is the madman with grenade launcher?" --> "where is the sonic weapon?" --> "where is the gunship?" --> "where is black widow?" --> "where is hulkbuster" --> "where is the nuke?" --> "where is thanos?" --> "where is stan lee?"

@@1983Dave1983 It wasn’t steroids, it was the Super Soldier Serum. The U.S. government created the experimental variant that was given to him. It was in cold storage for a few years until Ross offered it to Blonsky to assist in his hunt for the Hulk.

Why did they change this Incredible Hulk design to comic-relief Hulk?

People need to realise that 2008 is not a long time ago and 'not old tech times at all'. Infact its totally normal times.

So, bad directors like Taika made him a joke in Thor Ragnarok and Russos being the best MCU directors never gave any importance to Hulk character sidelining him in the last two avengers movies.
