This tensegrity structure which uses tension as a building tool. The floating string table was able to stand on its own because the middle string was pulled taught and that tension was used as a pillar to hold the entire structure up.

That is damn clever, the cotton string makes it impossible to say the wire is solid and stiff and that's what's holding it up. Inexpensive to build and without any costly power tools. Keep broadcasting!!

Nice job. Only one problem that I see. The strings will lose their streangth over time and will need to be tightened so that the table dosnt collaps. And I know this cause i have done The same build :) Gonna use some kind of steel wires on my next build.

i think you could have used either smaller eye hooks or make a slightly bigger hole for them and kinda hide them in the wood so to say so there's actually just two pieces of wood showing, without the metal hooks, anyway, im planning on making this at some point, maybe as a small desktop table to hold a figurine or a small plant, next to my pc.

I drill holes the same size as a toothpick (3/64, maybe) and wedge the toothpick into the holes with the string. I use lightweight fishing line for invisibility. After adjusting the strings, I shove the toothpicks in for all their worth and snap off the two ends sticking out the hole. Have to be careful not to put much on the structure, though and if it takes a nasty fall, the strings would likely pull through enough that I would have to restring it by drilling out the toothpicks. Fun to make.

Nice but very shaky. You can place the cables in diagonal instead of vertical to avoid this problem

Dimensions don't really matter. The principle is the same no matter what. Just make sure the up and down pieces do not extend to far over their bases. Also, try making one with only two outside strings instead of four. It is not as stable but looks much more mysterious. It still supports weight but you have to be careful how you place the object on it. If you look at 5:22, I keep the two on the left side.
