The Hunt For Giant Pike In Northern Manitoba - A Trip To Kistigan Lake

In mid June of 2017 my young son Brendan and I traveled to Kistigan Lake, a remote outpost camp operated by Elk Island Lodge on God's Lake in Northern Manitoba.
The camp is a bit rough around the edges but WOW, my son and I enjoyed some of the very best trophy pike fishing I've ever experienced in my life!
The two of us landed forty seven pike 40 inches or greater with the largest taping out at just over 44 inches. Truly incredible!!
When we did fish for walleyes they were abundant and large. Most days it was non stop fish from morning till night.

I’ve got a few of the Loomis E6X rods like Brandon was using and I love them. Great catches guys. Thumbs up from southern Ontario!

Hey Derek! Yeah, it was okay for me too, but there were issues. Didn't really matter though with fishing like that. :)

Lac Seul. Way less travel time and monster pike. Not sure if it still does.....but it held Canadian records for pike and musky at one point.

@@randyclement2429 I have done a couple in Pickle Lake. Great fishing.....great experience. Everyone should do it at least once. However once or twice a year i get the same experience, or "feel of isolation" and catching ( not keeping) 130 fish in 4.5 days of fishing, for half the price. Mind you i go prime time a week or 2 after Walleye opener. Nobody keeps pike, muskie and Sturgeon up there.
