The Hunt For A Lost Bronze-Age Metropolis Claimed By The Desert | Alexander's Lost World | Odyssey
It is said that Alexander the Great founded around 16 cities in central Asia, however this is now thought to be false. Many of these cities likely already existed and were merely built upon by the great conqueror. David Adams is in search of several such cities to see what remains of these Ancient Metropolises in Afghanistan's dangerous frontiers.

It does get better
The first nine minutes of jerking frame by frame gave me flashbacks to trying to fly an F-16 on my 1988 286 PC.
This is too choppy to watch. I hope it came be fixed 🙏

Thought it was my net at first. Glad it's not just me but also sucks that it's choppy :(
Yes it was jerky at the beginning but I just listened as it very well narrated then the video got better. Great documentary, very interesting.

this series is so hard to find, had to get amazon prime and get a 1 week free sub on an australian tv provider. Thank for you for sharing
Love your channel, really interested in this doc. Please upload a copy that’s capturing more than 8fps.

It gets better. It's just the beginning that's messed up.
Frustrating I couldn't watch beginning because it made it so I didn't know when it was fixed. It hurt my eyes that much.
so glad it smoothed out at 8:43 this was a fantastic Doc!
Always amazing
Video improves give or take about 9 minutes in
Years ago when I worked in Iran I took the ole magic bus to Herat,Afghanistan. There was a place called the Citadel on a hilltop and was said to be busy over a Temple Complex built by Alexander. Has anyone ever managed to explore this? At the time I got curious but almost shot because it was a base for the Afghan Army.
Why is the video so glitchy? I was super excited to see this upload, but you can't watch it this way.
I just watched it and it was fine. It was very enjoyable.
What year was this filmed
I wonder what their reactions would have been if you proved to them that they are wearing today the same “kausia” that the Macedonian-Thracian-Greek army have brought it over to them (before Alexander’s intromission, the Soghdians and Baktrians used to wear the Phrygian cap).
Hard to understand how any humans can make a life in this desolate land
This is too "jerky" for me to watch, which is a shame as I was looking forward to seeing it.
the bronze age collapsed 800-900 years before Alexander named any city after himself. They were well into the iron age by 500bce.
lol... I thought was my laptop, so I restarted it... and then I saw in the comments that's the video's problem... I'm not skipping the intro... I'll bear it 🐻
does he really not know those Corinthian column capitals are not supposed to be on the bottom, upside down??? "at least they're conserved"... hmm, arguable.
It is like the ancient Uighurs (empire) that the modern researchers/archaeoligists of the northern Indian lands refuse to admit.
As others have said, I can't watch this video.

I'm surprised at their feeding habits, they eat like animals. Even the Chinese figured out how to eat with sticks.
awful quality, unwatchable :(
Total load of rubbish, 'DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TO WATCH'
A lot of talking but not much walking.
Greeks are not really European.. their dna is a mix of iranian, Anatolian, levant dna and minimal European..they moved into what is now considered europe
You made a wrong video, it's not alexander's lost world, those lost sites are what the devil alexander destroyed. Tell the true history lol

@@yorgos19681 go on defend your devil alexander, he has no respect, the destroyer of cultures. How about reading the battle of hydapsis? He killed millions, he razed hundreds of cities, universities, and civilisations. Coming to afghnisthan, where in the world that country finds peace? After the Romans, Mongols, then the Caliphate, then the babur, so on, recently America. What would you expect the country's growth after all this? Please Do not sound inhuman.

And what of the theft of what Alexander left behind? And the theft of what those that came after him left behind? Humans are thieves - it's what we're so good at.

Nothing new today… Afghanistan used to be an oasis of peace, modernity and progress BEFORE the Americans and the Soviets began their business with it.
I really don't like this guys voice or delivery. Sounds too much like a 60 minutes doco. Next !
