No we just imagine that people wouldn't call it a sport to kill. You constantly miss the point. Yes, animal control is necessary at times especially when it comes to apex predators which foxes are (ironically because people who hunt killed the solves), but to make a sport out of it and have fun is utterly disgraceful. Not everyone is a tree hugger, but wanting to take a pack of hounds out on your horse to blow a horn and watch an animal be killed for a ''jolly good day out'' is inadmissible.

  • @EvasionUK

@@laurens5890 Why is it wrong for hunting to serve two purposes? It is management and sport at the same time, much like deer stalking, people take part in it because its enjoyable, but also good for the local economy and the welfare of the quarry. Nor is hunting with hounds cruel. In a hunt if the fox is caught its over in second, if it is not caught it escapes uninjured. When shooting to cull foxes the evidence suggests that there is at lease a 40% wounding rate. Hunting is the fundamental human sport; it has been considered so for thousands of years

Do they even need to hunt a fox, or any animal for that matter? I am a horserider myself an I recognise that there is nothing better than going for a ride through the countryside. However, the fact that the fox even needs to be involved is cruel an unnecessary, why can't they keep the traditions alive but let the old cruelties die. I know that foxhunting is a tradition but it needs to move with the times.

  • @spy4863

Yeah, I'm with you! The sport itself looks like a lot of fun, but I don't think they need to use live animals-foxes, that is-to be hunted. Couldn't it be slightly changed so that perhaps what they're hunting is a mobile toy or something else that's not alive, but still able to move? I would think that would be much safer, much less cruel, and every bit as exciting and fun!

Hello. Pro fox hunting arguments from my brother which may help you understand: Since wolves were hunted to extinction (how ironic!) foxes have become the apex predator and their populations have gone wild. They have moved into cities and villages to find food. Farmers were the original hunters, going out together on their horses (for speed) with their dogs, in order to deal with the fox that was killing their stock. Fox hunting was later adopted as a 'sport' by politicians and whatnot. I don't like seeing foxes die, but neither do I like my pet chickens dying at the hands of a starving fox. To keep an animal populations under control is to keep it healthy: habitats are not overrun, and there is enough food for everyone. That is the problem with foxes. There are too many of them since the ban, so they become a nuisance. Remember. The key statement is: hounds are the next best thing to wolves. Most people who would hunt are not trained in shooting. It's more cruel to shoot, not kill and leave the fox wounded and in pain than it is to use hounds. So many hounds/wolves and it's over in seconds.

@harrietbrown, We need to reintroduce native apex predators. We have the moral responsibility to restore order to our ecosystems. Humans, on the other hand, have moral agency and should know that it is wrong to unnecessarily hunt and kill innocent animals. They have feelings and need to be protected. And I’m a country girl. I know a lot about nature and animals. I know that, in nature, animals kill and eat each other, and fight each other, over territory, mating rights and for food. However, they do not have moral agency and need to kill to eat to survive. Humans, for the most part, don’t.

@supporttheban . I am worried about my local herd of roe deer. the council want to put a bypass round the village . And fill in with houses . there are already too many people in the area.there will be no where for the wildlife to go. Its alright for birds but not alright for large mammals. If you have an eye for the country you will also know what is right for nature.Hunting has been banned but do not give up the fight to let nature have free of our countryside..

It is the dead body of the fox that the pack is mouthing. A display of savage pack nature red in tooth 'n claw perhaps, but not cruel as the fox is not alive. As you can see from 09:00 the fox carcass is also very much not 'ripped to shreds'.

You have a choice and you choose to support a cruel and unnecessary past time in the name of what???? You seem to put a HUGE amount of effort into killing one fox. Look at the ratio of riders to foxes and tell me what benefit there is to the killing of one small fox. As if the elements and mange and other conditions aren't bad enough for them their cubs are taken and their mothers chased until they are exhausted and all in the name of what?? YOU HAVE A CHOICE and choose to participate in something that is against the law as voted by the British Public

Matthew you are trying to attribute to an animal the emotions, cares and concerns of a human being. Most of the anti-hunting lobby seems to have this inability to distinguish between human and animal minds. Do you really believe that a fox, a rat, a sea cucumber or whatever else has the same range and depth of thoughts as you, a human? You (think) you know about fox hunting because you have probably read something on Buzzfeed and watched a couple of KZread videos. Has a fox done this? A fox being hunted has never heard of foxhunting (duh) and has never met any higher predator that itself, in all probability never having encountered a foxhound. Of things that it doesn't know it has no fear. It can't waltz into W H Smiths and my a copy of The Guardian, like you. As for your question 'would I like to be ripped to pieces' the answer is actually neither yes or no: I am ambivalent as to what happens to my body after I die. I hope my manner of death will be quick and painless but I don't really care what happens afterwards. I suspect that the same is true of the fox: after the hounds have killed it, quickly and relatively painlessly, I doubt it matters one single iota to the dead fox if several hours hence the huntsman gives the dead carcass to the hounds to eat.

Awful. Just awful. Thoughtless and cruel. To think these barbarians actually get off to the fact that they're torturing an innocent life is not only disturbing but slightly frightening. They don't treat their hounds and their horses right either and it really makes you wonder how they must treat their families and children. It's all so despicable that it makes me literally sick to my stomach. Fuck animal abusers.

Another idiot who hasn't got a clue! Foxes are not tortured and the hunting folk are certainly not barbarians. You are so much of a liar when you state that the hunting fraternity treat their horses and hounds in a bad way. 'Tell the truth"! Typical (antis)!

It's funny how predictable the antis are- they have such an extraordinarily small repertoire of comments: (1) hunters are barbarians, (2) hunters are inbred toffs, (3) hunters "get off on" killing. Admittedly we didn't get the full set on this comment, so the bingo card remains incomplete, but we ticked off some of the good ones. In particular I have never understood the "hunters get off on killing things" line of argument. The antis have this bizarre fetishistic fascination with assuming that every action that anyone takes must be in order to "get off on it". How lucky we would be if such a broad range of activities really did deliver a sexual thrill. Alas, it does not. Such pathetic comments say more about the puerile minds of the antis than anything else.

Tom, I read your comments regarding the somewhat bizarre statements the (antis) always seem to throw at the hunting fraternity, especially within their reference to (murdering poor innocent creatures). It not only becomes totally tiresome but obviously boring and so inaccurate. "One particular buffoon said that we hunters found a certain sexual pleasure when animals are killed.'These people are so deranged in their thought processes and I find it extremely offensive that a (SMALL) minority of people decide to use bully boy tactics in their ultimate aim to try and extinguish such a wonderful tradition as (Fox hunting)."All death is cruel. However, one has to look at the bigger picture and balance such an emotive subject portrayed by the animal lunatics. "They never admit the damage they do within the countryside and especially to the hunting folk who are always provoked into certain conflicts with these mindless bunch of thugs. It isn't about foxes at all, but about an hatred of another type of people who enjoy hunting. "A fox knows every inch of its territory, hedgerows, paths, escape routes and every hole. He uses these to his advantage which is so often the case. The antis never talk about control methods, ok some will say shooting foxes perhaps. However, it has been seen that shooting can often leave animals in a wounded condition. With hounds , the fox is either caught or killed, (simple) and the truth.

It's important to see the truth and that is why someone like myself will watch this video. It's been hidden for far too long. If you are having problems with foxes being predatory to your animals. perhaps you should be more involved in your livestock's care. Nothing will discourage a fox as an active and attentive farmer. You are very wrong Sir, I want you to enjoy your beautiful land, horses. and gorgeous days. But I expect you to be more civilized. No wildlife, no person should ever be brutalized. This is moral issue.

I'm against bloodsports in everyway but I agree with you, to a point. Blocking dens, terrier work, bagging foxes...it's pathetic. Breeding foxhounds to run slower than foxes to drag out the hunt is just one tool in their arsenal....The last lost foxhound I found was shot(not my dog!)....'for getting lost'...sorry state it was in when I found it, running panicked back and forth over the lane....cold, wet, shivering and pitifully thin(the dog not me)...but the hunt doesn't care...tally ho! Idiots.

This is totally barbaric and these "hunters" ought to be pulled off their horses, stripped bare and their clothes burnt. Then let hunters loose into the wild for a week or so. Their horses and hounds given to good loving homes. Then let us see how these hunters survive and if the ravens have eaten out the eyes of those who did not.
