Bcgrote--the reason the beagles look different from the breeds of today is that they are not beagles; they are English Foxhounds. The foxes are nowhere near extinction and are real problems to farmers, who invariably lose lambs, chickens, and other livestock to the vulpine predator at considerable monetary loss. You don't sound very informed, nor do the other critics I have listened to.

Such bad seats those riders had going over jumps!! It's a testament to the horses that they could clear the jumps at all. Caprilli's forward seat must not have made it to England from Italy at that point. Some terrible riding on display, bumping down in the saddle whilst yanking on the horse's mouth, no doubt a lot of people weren't regulars. Things have improved since then. Have to say I really like the English hunt seat.

Or condem slaughter houses. These are horror chambers. Fact: so called sports people shooting an animal, only injuring it. To crawl off to die a slow painful death At least within seconds a fox is dead. Not slowly bleeding to death in pain. Ok let's outlaw all hunting. Then turn to humans killing each other. Where bleeding hearts side with the killer. Screw the victim.

The Duke of Beaufort did more for hunting than any of the animal-rights organisations of animal -rights nutters have ever done. In fact the antis created a wonderful own goal due to everyman's hand againts foxes nowadays and especially using certain indiscriminate methods of control, i.e. Shooting, snaring, trapping and even the vileness of poisons.
