    Men, Peeta is underrated. The main reason why people enjoyed Katniss was because he did all that strategy that he was in love with her, and that she was pregnant. Katniss was a good fighter, but she was boring for TV. She wouldn't have been popular. Peeta made people like katniss by associating his interesting personality to her. He saved themselves quite often, and maybe that wasn't made obvious in the movies, but the promotions before the games were hella important, cause if people didn't like you, your chances of winning were pretty low since you didn't get any sponsors And yes, he planned the whole thing, just to save her everytime.

    Did you know that Haymitch was in the 50th game, so he was also in a ''special'' game. There was double participant and he used the environment to kill the last girl. The last person standing threw an axe at him and he dodged it. The axe got into the force field at the end of the arena and got back in the head of the girl. The capitol was humiliated and killed his whole family and thats why he drinks so much.

    Lol did you know what the worst part of the movies is? All the characters are supposed to be teenagers. Like, they're 14-18. Finnick was forced into prostitution after he won the games. And the movies don't show you any of that which was literally the point of the books. They forced children to fight for their entertainment. But the movies don't close to capturing the horror of the books.

    Despite how much Hollywood tried to make it entirely an action/thriller series that focused on the love triangle of all things....The Hunger Games trilogy was written as serious satire of where our society sits today & where it could be headed. The "reality tv", suffering being ignored or used as just conversation, oppressive governments where the lucky citizens don't care to understand. Racism, sick pride in brutality (District 1 & 2). The fact that the movies were made in a way that the people who didn't read the books might not get this message bothers me a bit.

    Peeta did the painting of Rue. He had gone right before her and is the only one we've seen with artistic skills. Not to mention, he's in love with Katniss so he would want to pick something meaningful for her. I agree with the comment below, he doesn't get near enough credit. He's the one who's strategies have gained them help from sponsors and the audience. He's gotta deal with the heartache of pretending to be in a relationship with someone he loves who has a thing with someone else and he doesn't push her about it, he doesn't complain about it because he knows the current situation they're in is more important and keeping each other safe has to be the focus, meanwhile Gale's over to the side and has literally gotten angry with katniss for doing what she needs to stay alive because of his petty moody jealousy.

  • @blkbarbie2671

    @blkbarbie2671

    Well, it wasn’t good of him to be angry at Katniss, but I think people get caught up on the Gale-hate-train and don’t appreciate how things were hard for him too. At one point Katniss puts herself in his shoes, and realises she would be livid if this whole scenario played out with him and a mystery girl instead. Granted, those are her feelings before she falls for Peeta fully, but Gale doesn’t have any other love interests.

Katniss killed children too. almost everyone you root for in this story is a murderer. It’s a harsh and cold dystopian world where innocence is rewarded with death most of the time (see Rue). If you look at it through an idealistic lens you’ll find it hard to see why any actions were justified. But I do definitely understand that’s the beauty of books, everyone forms their own opinions. This, in turn, raises the odds for younger kids in the outer disctricts to be selected for the games - which in turn lower their chances of winning even further. The mockingjay was a thing before Katniss used it. They never explained that well in the movies. During the first war, the capital used genetic splicing to win (you saw this a little at the end of the first hunger games with those dog things). The capital created something called jabber jays, which were able to mimic human speech exactly (they're used in this movie to mimic katniss's and Finnick's loved ones in pain). The capital sent the jabber jays into enemy territory to spy and report back. Basically, they listened in on conversations and repeated them back to the capital. The districts eventually found out and began feeding the capital false information. Once the capital realized what was happened, they stopped using the jabber jays and sent them out into the wild to die. While they DID die, first they mated with mocking birds which created a hybrid called a mocking jay. They can't mimic speech like a jabber jay but they can mimic musical notes. they mockingjay represents a humiliating failure of the capital and, therefore, became a sign of the rebellion.

    The disrespect for Peeta is horrific. Useless? He's the most useful character there. He is the one keeping Katniss alive at all times. He is the one pulling the strings, winning over the Capitol, saving them at every turn. You think Katniss would have lasted one second outside of 12 without Peeta? No way. She's strong and tough, but she's boring and unlikable (not as a character, as a person to the Capitol). Plus, she insulted the Gamemakers. They would have had her killed off VERY quickly if it weren't for the Capitol eating up Peeta's star-crossed lovers story. And the sponsors? No one would have sponsored Katniss without Peeta there to make her look better. This is reality TV, and Peeta is smart, funny, likable, and charismatic. Katniss is rough, moody, and unemotional. I wonder who was the real savior in there? Katniss knows it.

    One of the things that really irks me is that the movies leave out the details that were in the books. For example, the mocking jay pin. It's been a long time since I've read the books so I can't remember in detail but here's something from a website about it "The pin originally belonged to Madge Undersee's aunt, Maysilee Donner, a tribute who died in the 50th Hunger Games. When Katniss first saw Madge wearing the pin, she thought that it could keep a family fed with bread for months due to the fact that it is made of finely crafted gold. When Madge came to bid Katniss farewell she offered it to her as a symbol of District 12 and made her promise to wear it in the arena" like this is why it was important to Katniss but in the movie she just randomly found it in the market place -.- Also the mutts, wolf DNA and the fallen tribute's DNA mixed. They literally had a Rue mutt after Katniss which is disturbing but in the movie they're just dog things. I'm pretty sure Peeta also loses his leg due to the mutts in the first book? Or seriously injures his leg at least. I mean these adaptations were better than a lot of book to movie adaptations but it still wasn't amazing in my opinion due to the lack of detail and the fact that they glossed over the horror of the entire story to push an overdone love triangle. They also made Katniss way too selfish in the movie in my opinion, like in the later movies the only reason she does anything is for Peeta but in the book she does it to save innocent people.

    I don't think they made Katniss selfish, I think she comes across that way when you can see what she's thinking. But all her actions, her behaviour and what she says is very close to the book. But they can't show her thought process in the film's.

    Peeta is unbelievably strong, it is more flushed out in the books. In the books he is said to be shorter than other male tributes but has broad shoulders and chest. He intimidates the other tributes in the first book, the weight he throws across the room, others can barely lift. He saved himself in the water, he held the other tribute in his crushing arms until the guy drowned. He kills Brutus with his bare hands (something they don't even mention in the movie).

    Nonchalant Gaming tbh same I just don’t think romance is at the top of her mind. Also the thing with peeta was an act at first and other than bond cuz of the horrors they faced together, I don’t think it was romantic love, i never got that romance while reading the books. And I think she doesn’t really see gale romantically either.

  • @brynburnham2342

    @brynburnham2342

    4 жыл бұрын

    i think that although katniss’ first priority was never romance, she belonged with peeta, because it started as an act, and that’s what made it even more perfect, because once peeta is hijacked, she realizes how much she did for her and how he was always there for her and was so selfless, and when he comes back to twelve and plants the primroses he’s there to comfort her and always puts katniss above himself, so that’s how i see them romantically, and they’ve been through so much together it’s just sorta meant to be, but anyways, i think that gale and her had a great friendship, but it once he wanted be with her, he ruined their whole dynamic in a way :)

    What I found interesting in this movie was the baby plot. Everyone was so up and arms and outraged at the fact that Katniss could enter the games while she's "pregnant" yet they are all perfectly fine yearly sending literal children to fight to the death for their entertainment. Why is the life of that baby more important than the kids you're willing to sacrifice for these games? If I'm not mistaken, the youngest you can be to enter the games is 12, right? And they absolutely love it, but the baby was where the public drew the line...

    If you watch star wars, you should either watch all 10 of them in one sitting, or watch them in segments; The Prequels, then maybe Solo And Rogue One, Then the Original Trilogy, then the two sequels that are currently out.

    I totally disagree, I think watching the Original Trilogy first would be best to get into the world of Star Wars. Then either the Prequels or Rogue One I don't think it matters whiwh one first, except if seeing Rogue One first, it could be hard to get into the Prequels quality-wise...
