The humble Starlet, a twin charged kingslayer
In today's video, i had the pleasure of meeting up with a guy called John Northmore. Over the past decade John has hand built this turbocharged and supercharged Starlet nugget. It is truly a wolf in sheep's clothing. We drove, we had chats, we had tae (of course). Throughout the day it became very clear that John is extremely passionate about this little starlet, and he has spent time engineering out any issues he came across while building this monster. No systems has been deleted, so the car is super user friendly. The supercharger occupies the space of the power steering pump,so rather than being rid of power steering, hes fitted an electric steering pump from a saxo. And this theme carried out throughout the car. Its well balance and well rounded, it doesn't even torque steer somehow.
I really hope you enjoy this video as much as i enjoyed making it, John deserves massive credit for this build, he has attempted a build that would scare most others away, and he has absolutely nailed it

Thank you to the KZread algorithm that brought me this.
John is one of the best starlet builders.
An incredible and special little car, so much attention to detail in the build and words can't describe the feeling of the power coming on, welldone to john on the great build
What a beast, ive seen this car around the web over the years , thank you so much for the mini doc with detailed info :)
Amazing build.
Take off stickers off side window and cover front with bug mesh
Amazing stuff Joe. Mary's very comfortable behind the wheel isn't she😂
Well done John, you are a fantastic engineer, what a machine.
I’ve only seen pictures of this car but never in person. Would love to have a nose under the bonnet some day.
Perfect sleeper
incredible build hats off to the man
That's a class machine! You'd think butter wouldn't melt seeing yer man tipping along in that 😅
Wow, just wow!
Great video 👏
Fantastic
Incredible Build! Nice "little" sleeper you've got here. I built the same system in my Audi and i'm wondering which flap you use between the SC and the Turbo. I'm currently using the Audi BiTDI bypass-valve (Audi 059145901C) and it is working well, but i think i could use a bigger one.
Thanks alot for this video
