I hope people are discovering there's more to Human League than the song "Don't you want me". Like this one for example. This track for example. If you listen to the lyrics its really powerful stuff. It's about Lee Harvey Oswald and the Kennedy assasination. In fact this whole album is a hallmark of not just New Wave, but the 80s. It's definitely a must listen.

Even back in '81 I thought this track needed to be extended; that it's too good to finish so soon. I'll eventually post more of our work on my channel, so stay tuned. Love and peace to you all :-)

david tracey Thanks David, I'm glad you like it :-) And yes; it is such a shame for those who survive such a great loss, and there are many that do. I think that the best way to deal with such horrendous personal loss is to look to those such as Yoko Ono for inspiration. She has turned her loss and grief around and used it to continue on with her and John's work of peaceful activism in trying to help make our world a better place for us all. And I cannot find the words to describe how much I admire her strength and courage for having done so too. She really is an exceptional and awesome person. Much love and respect :-)

""Seconds" "Seconds" is a serious, sombre mood piece on the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, and its impact on the wider world. Where Oakey berates (the unnamed) Lee Harvey Oswald, characterised by the lyrics "it took seconds of your time to take his life" and "a shot that was heard around the world". When played live the song is often accompanied by background slides of Kennedy.[14] The song makes a feature of the voice assignment modes on the Roland Jupiter-4 synthesiser, alternating between strident two-note chords, with 2 VCOs per note, and thinner three note chords with 1 VCO per voice." - Wikipedia

Yay Human League! I think of how in the early 80's how older people would yammer about how music had 'no feeling' or 'soul' compared to what they had in the sixties or 70's. Well, I can now say that about the music of this decade. There will never be another musical renaissance like the 80's decade...

Back when first discovered new wave or started listening to in the early 80’s, even when you went to a used rock store looking for it, the clerks would give me that you like that attitude bc they thought it was a quick fad. Tyen a few years later when this style of music caught on and heard everywhere, everyone jumped on the bandwagon and no longer underground. Then many claimed they loved it from the beginning when I only found few ppl. caring of this music. I’m glad I stuck with what I liked and didn’t care if ppl. labeled me weird for listening to this music. Then the subculture of the ppl. that listen and dressed like many of these bands started to grow in my city San Francisco, when most Americans were the corn fed ones from the mid west. I learned that many don’t like change and wait for others to give the thumps up before getting involved with something new. I’ve always felt seeking new things and learning is the great part of living, So I guess I was on to something great back in the early 80’s bc these songs now are iconic, but many didn’t realize that when these songs were new and harder to find out about. Bc you had to go through the small sections in record stores and you had no way to know what it sounded like bc much of the music was not played on the radio.
