I had a friend in high school that worked at the local Dairy Queen at the end of first shift. She would find out where we’re all hanging out and bring us the extra ice cream. She told us that if the twirl on the top isn’t perfect, they couldn’t sell it so they always had extra dilly bars and ice cream cones sometimes they brought a cake that was done wrong, We ate that well that summer!

Here in Hermosillo, Mexico we got at least 10 Dairy Queen locations and they all just serve treats, no fast food at all. Whenever I'd visit the States I'd find the concept of these places also havibg chili dogs, burgers, and other hot eats to be kind of exotic.

I recommend the chicken strips. The burgers are mediocre, but the chicken strips have great texture and flavor for fast food chicken. Plenty of dipping sauces to choose from too, including white gravy which is a popular choice you won't find in many other places.

Even though I have always know about Dairy Queen and their Blizzards, I had never even heard of a "Dilly Bar" until I worked at Walt Disney World selling snacks a couple of years ago. I've never had a DQ Blizzard, but I really enjoy the Dairy Queen ice cream and the chicken and cheeseburgers. I remember before they remodeled the location where I used to live it looked like it was from the 1950s on the outside. They had giant blow mold Dairy Queen ice cream cones for the enter and exit signs that lit up at night. Always thought that was cool as a kid. 4:50 Ted Drew's a Route 66 classic in St. Louis. I've always seen pictures and videos of it, but never gotten a chance to go there.

In Canada, Blizzards can be had with Smarties, not M&Ms. This also goes for McFlurries. These are not the small, hard sugar candies that Americans eat. Those are called Rockets here. A few years ago, Smarties were not made available for both, so mini M&Ms were substituted. People were not happy, and shortly thereafter, Smarties were back.

I think their food is better than the ice cream. Their food is honestly some of the best I’ve had of fast food and people sleep on it. Sad.

I doordash, and my town has a very busy 'brazier' DQ. I deliver more hot food than treat items, by far.

I don't think I've ever had a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I've never been much for crunchy stuff in my ice "milk." I've had lots of stuff from there. I can't count the number of times I've had their chicken baskets and sundaes. I've just never had a craving for the Blizzard.
