    @@snusnu39 For one, her desire for money is not based on her views of equality, but on her personal fiscal enrichment. And when people pointed out that the "equal pay" narrative was based entirely on myth, she ignored it and pressed on anyway. Considering that the settlement was merely less than the average earnings of a small second-division men's club, she tried to pass it off as a victory despite no progress being made in the long term. That's discounting the fact that the only reason why she pressed the case was that her perception of her actual abilities as a footballer was greater than the reality of it all, considering that she lost to a bunch of children, young enough to be her sons, in a friendly match. The long and short of it is that it was all Ego, just like Solo's campaigning. Ego and narcissism. All steeped in sociopathy.

    4:41 I will say one thing about football is that even if you’re one of the greats, if you do a crime the fans will usually never mention you again. In England for example Ryan Giggs was highly regarded for a long time, but then his crimes came out and now he’s not even mentioned by United fans. So don’t worry she’s thankfully already been moved on from in football which is good because someone like this shouldn’t deserve any good recognition.

    Players get paid based on butts in the seat. Period. It is an NPV calculation based on expected revenue. That accounts for the discrepancy. If women want to earn more, they need to get mom’s to bring daughters to games. I see dad’s doing it. I don’t see mom’s. The players need to get out there and promote women’s sports to raise their brands. Owners need to invest in the marketing. It is not about sexism. It is unfortunate that they win and get less resources but is just a money calculation.

  • @amyparker9816

    @amyparker9816

    7 күн бұрын

    @@Galworld761 What an ignorant comment. First of all, the USNWT has been putting butts in seats for a very long time now - more than the USMNT, in fact. Secondly, for many, MANY years now the players have been promoting women's sports, but misogyny at a societal level doesn't disappear overnight. Thirdly, commenting that "mom's don't bring their kids to games" is absolutely ridiculous for multiple reasons. 1) Yes, moms absolutely do bring their children to games. Just because you apparently don't see it doesn't mean it's not happening. 2) How much time do you think moms have? It's a fact that women continue to do the lion's share of household duties. If you see a lot of dads at sporting events with kids, I would bet you that 9/10 times there's a mom at home with younger kids or catching up on things that she never has time for. 3) It is generally true that men watch sports, partake in sports, and go to sporting events more than women. But why is that? Perhaps it's because as girls get older there are fewer and fewer options for them to continue their sports. Or maybe it's because when girls and women show interest in sports, we're mocked relentlessly and told that we're only interested in sports to get a boyfriend. Or maybe it's because when we do go to sporting events we have to be on high alert at all times because there are drunk men everywhere. So yes, actually, it is about sexism.
