I stopped largemouth bass fishing years ago (muskies). On a musky trip in '19 one of my buddies showed me some of his JDM gear he brought. I was blown away with every aspect of his bass equipment. It made my stuff look like garbage from years and years ago, which of course it was. I picked up a few decent rods and upgraded my reels after the trip. Then I came across your channel and Jeff's. My previous bass upgrade is now being upgraded and most of my fishing tackle money gets spent on the amazing stuff you discuss and sell. I'm broke.... BUT BASS FISHING IS FUN AGAIN! Thanks, fellas. Love the channels and I am really looking forward to more podcasts.

Hearing about them crushing your dreams of being a tournament angler as a kid is kind of heartbreaking. Especially when you look at it through the lense of class discrimination. I’m glad you were able to take that experience and turn it into something positive and you are still bass fishing.

I've never had any desire to fish tournaments, couple buddies try get me to give kayak tournaments a try. That just sounds like taking all the fun out of it. I wanna go hard to get places, most people have wouldn't put the work to get to. I'm happy if I don't see anyone else. Just me & mother nature, hopefully catch some big bass. Even a bad of fishing is still a good day on the water. I'm always learning & enjoying the outdoors. I'd agree also. I would much rather catch 1 big bass than many small ones! I've lost 2 really big bass this past month also. Came off right by the kayak. One was a 7-8 other last Friday was a 8-10, one of bigger bass I've ever seen. It still stings but I know I'm on right track still with how well the earlier part of the year has been. Keep the podcast coming...
