Cornell may just have the best facilities for any program for just wrestling. They put Iowa, Penn State Osu’s to shame. Cayden you should go see the facility’s over at Adams State University you would fall in love. Be a great school for you to go to. They could be top 2-3 in the country with you and your partners in the room Wow!!!!

Yanni's personality was way better than i was expecting. I think Washington DC is sending someone to Fargo for the first time this year. Ill be the first coach in DC history to coach at Fargo. Ive never been so im pretty excited about it. You guys rock!!

Yianni Diakomihalis 243-3 in HS (3 loss in 7th grade) 115-2 in NCAA dude is 358-5 in folkstyle in a 12 year period. The consistency is insane. Had he not had surgery and missed his senior year of high school, you could add another 50 wins onto that total . Has the NYS record for most wins in a row (210). Second most wins in a row in NY … Vito Arujau with 173. His record was 216-1 in high school. Only loss …to Yianni D when they both were in 8th grade in the state final in a double overtime match.

Definitely my favorite podcast. Great work boys. Yianni's my favorite college wrestler hands down.

I grew up wrestling with FLWC back in the day. It means a lot to be able to see this place again in such detail. It's changed a lot in the past 10 years

I remember one time, while I was a junior in high school, I looked at the national high school rankings and seeing Yianni at number 1. I obviously knew he was good, but I didn't think he'd be a 4-timer. It's cool to look back on. He seems like a great kid and I'm glad Cornell is the first school to have multiple 4-timers.

Glad you got to Ithaca. Love the videos. I used to work at Cornell and I've been going to Cornell matches since 1980.

At 6:00 I think Yianni is talking about LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio. Over time it improves how much ATP your cells produce, thus, you can wrestle harder for longer. It fully stretches the heart and makes it a more efficient blood oxygen pump, thus, you can wrestle harder for longer. It aids in recovery by oxygenating your tissues … thus you can wrestle harder for longer (noticing a theme here?) And its very easy to recover from. So you can put hours and hours of it into your training week without impacting your recovery much. A lot of wrestling programs have hours of this as apart of their training block, and its one of the reasons that college heavyweights, as big as they are, aren’t gassing in the first period like they do high school

I think Stanford is a long distance away. Probably why they weren’t in the league with Cornell.

This is insanely interesting but the camera work needs some tweaking. You should use a stabilized go pro in wide angle and stabilize again in your editing software. Around 3 minutes in I had to stop cause I was getting too dizzy. Your camera man also needs to be a little more steady cause he shakes the thing way too much. The good thing about the go pro is that it has a less shallow depth of field so it is more descriptive. You don't really need the buittery shallow DOF and fancy lenses for a video tour like this. We want to see everything in the background.

Yianni Diakomihalis : I do a lot of high level shit...but it's hard explaining it.

If I was overly-dramatic I would say Yianni not winning a Hodge is tragic. I’ll just call it sadly ignorant voting…he should have 2!
